DNS->Wins proxy?
Hi. Some of my friends like to drag their computers to my place for LAN parties sometimes and I've set up a DHCP server on my Linux gateway for easy configuration. When someone sets up a game server on their computer, we still have to resort to broadcasting via the voice-over-air protocol to get the IP to everyone. Today I set up a WINS server with Samba on my Linux gateway and all of my

malformed broadcast packets ?
Hello All, I recently upgraded to Redhat AS3 from an older 7.3 installation. With samba 3 (3.0.2-6.3E is the rpm version), I've been seeing activity that wasn't present before. Every 15 minutes (within a few seconds accuracy), I receive an alert from our SonicWall (firewall appliance) reporting that a "Malformed IP packet dropped." where the source was the upgraded server, and

The DAHDI docs actually include the 'steps' that used to be in Zaptel's 'make b410p'. These steps involve downloading and compiling mISDN. Why re-invent the wheel? Just a thought :-). As for the 100ohm termination bit - it's simply changing a couple of dip switches on the b410p card (as described in the manual). Andy -----Original Message----- From:

Apart from you were dialling out on your inbound context and vice-versa. The best advice I can give now is to change to mISDN - as this is proven to work with v1.4 and v1.6. Actually - have you tried putting the 100ohm termination on for your NT port? I need to do that with mISDN as it only allows ptmp for ISDN extensions. Cheers Andy -------------- next part

I believe it is not fiber, but I am not sure. I am going to take one of them home tonight and hook it to my POTS line there, which for sure is not fiber. Gregory P. Adtran TA750 Noise - Email found in subject
Rich, Thanks a bunch, totally understand now and that actually makes total sense. (no need for schematics). This also explains why I used an TA750 to go into a Nortel MICS system, using FXO and no buzz. Totally balanced load from the analog ports on the Nortel across the 5 feet of CAT5 to the FXO on the adtran. Now I need to get rid of some Adtrans --- Anyone lookin to buy? :) Thanks

That does work, I use that same approach to get analog extensions in a norstar system to dial a specific sip phone in *. Works really well. We then also tie the calleridname to which channel they dial out from as well. Gregory P. You'll need one of the Digium Cards to make/receive pstn call...Chose the best one fits to you... To make calls over ip, voip phone is also needed such as grandstream, cisco, etc. or you can download x-lite from xten.com And use it with your computer as a soft phone... _____ From: infra struct [mailto:infrastructt@yahoo.com] Sent: Monday, June 06, 2005 1:01 PM To:

It looks like you are trying to dial out on your 'NT' instead of your 'TE'. Try changing Dial(DAHDI/g1/${EXTEN:1}); to Dial(DAHDI/G1/${EXTEN:1}); Oh, and I'd use mISDN for BRI as DAHDI always gave me problems. HTH -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

[SPAM] - Re: CDR Design - Email found in subject
Hi murf, Speaking as someone who designs and builds billing platforms, this is very exciting. One little thing I have most problems with is the good old fax detection. I know that NVFaxDetect et al do actually answer the call and, therefore, get flagged as ANSWERED in the CDR. But, if the call never gets answered after the initial detection - then, to my customer, it is a missed (NO ANSWER)
