Samba 3.0.0 can't join ADS domain
I'm installing Samba 3.0.0 on a RH9 system for the
first time. I've gone through the doc and I believe
that I've done everything correctly, but when I try to
issue a "net ads join -U myuserid" command, I get no
response. No errors, just nothing. When I do a klist
I can see the credentials for "myuserid" but nothing
else. If I do a "net rpc join -U

NULL sessions - Listing shares anonymously - restrict anonymous
Hi,
I am running 2.2.5 and I would like to know if the
"restrict anonymous" as been implemented correctly, as it was supposed
to behave from the start, in order to deny
ALL anonymous connections as stated in the man :
"When restrict anonymous is yes, all anonymous connections are denied no
matter what they are for."
Ive been reading some dev mailing lists and someone said

Anonymous connection to Samba PDC?
Hi,
is there a way to anonymously connect a Windows client to a Samba PDC? I
have some random clients which I currently don't want to add to the domain,
but would still like them to have access to one share.
For example, I have:
[skener]
path = /var/spool/scanner/scans
browseable = yes
writable = yes
force user = scanner
force group = scanner

Samba Anonymous LDAP Authentication
Hello all. I have a Samba PDC server working great already. However
on another host on the network I would like to setup a Samba server
that authenticates to the same LDAP server that my Samba PDC is using.
However I want to do this anonymously without telling the second
server the admin password for LDAP. I cannot seem to find any
documentation for anonymous LDAP authentication using Samba.

Anonymous trac access restrictions
It seems trac is being hit by a high level of automated crawling, to the
extent that use by humans is often slow or entirely unresponsive.
To address this, I've removed the permissions from anonymous access
which are the ones which cause it to fetch data from git (or at least
those I think do). All the data should still be available anonymously,
it's just not all available anonymously

Win XP-home connecting to Samba, ahhh, please help!
I'm about ready to pull my teeth out over this. I just installed Red
Hat 8.0, have not used Linux much in the past, which is why I went with
Red Hat, sposeto be easier, more support etc.
The network the Linux box resides in has 2 WinXP-home computers, and a
Win200 Pro computer. They are all sharing all files, no passwords, no
domain, just a workgroup called "ESR".
I just want the

Modify from header for anonymous call
Hello,
Our supplier requires the From header of a SIP INVITE to contain certain data so the call is placed with a private caller id.
It needs to be like this: From: <sip:anonymous at anonymous.invalid;user=phone>;tag=123455667

enabling anonymous login
Hi.
I've set up Samba 3.0.24d on FreeBSD 6.1 and I have a problem that I can't
login anonymously into it (and I suspect that's the reason why windowses
can't browse network):
# smbclient -L black -N
Anonymous login successful
Domain=[WRKGRP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.23d]
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
I've googled around much and all I've seen on this
