Samba Print Driver Errors
Hola folks,
I'm experiencing a problem trying to get drivers to upload/download properly
with Samba 2.2.5 and CUPS. I've read the various HOWTOs and have managed to
get drivers to upload, except that it errors out, saying that it was unable
to apply the changes.
The driver files do successfully upload to the proper directory on the Samba
server.
If I try to do things by hand:

cupsaddsmb rpcclient error
I am running samba 2.2.6 and cups 1.1.16. I can't get cupsaddsmb to
complete successfully. I'm at an end here, I can't think of anything
else to try after 2 weeks of searching the web. It copies the drivers
to the print$ share directory, however the SetPrinter command fails on
the rpcclient command and it returns with an NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
error. At the SetPrinter failure, it

rpcclient setdriver fails: WERR_INVALID_PRINTER_NAME
Hi all,
I have a similar problem as Patrik yesterday. So I can copy some lines, but
not all.
We have an SuSE 8.1 machine who acts as an printserver.
I'm sharing printers via Samba and using CUPS.
Samba is 2.2.7a and CUPS 1.1.8.
The Microsoft clients (Win9x, Win NT, Win 2k) is downloading the
driver from the server.
I had no problem to install and upload up to 2 printers but now I am

ISDN phone Hold-Problem connected to QuadBRI/Zap
Folks,
(sorry for overlong lines)
I have recently configured one port on my QuadBRI card
to work in NT mode with NET signalling configured so that
I can use an ISDN telephone on it. I have set up a separate
group in zapata.conf and can call the phone and place calls
from it like a charm. No problems at all.
Problems came up when trying to hold a call and get it back.
I turned on "pri debug

Can't get test 8 working
I have just installed the IRIX binary version (2.2.2) on an SGI Indy called "indy2"
which is running IRIX 6.5.10. I then started to work through the tests in
DIAGNOSIS.txt documents and all was well until test 8. To try to get things going I
reduced the smb.conf file to the following:
[global]
workgroup = indy2grp
[homes]
guest ok = no
read only = no

Xprint support in OpenSSH?
Hello,
Does OpenSSH have any plans yet to extend the existing X11 forwarding support to include Xprint - the XOrg standard for printing? Documentation can be found at http://xprint.mozdev.org/docs/
The only change required to have Xprint support is to forward the X print server connection referenced by the XPSERVERLIST environment variable similar to the video display server referenced by the

werr_access_denied when running setdriver for a printer
Hi all,
I'm getting WERR_ACCESS_DENIED error for some of the printers when running
setdriver printer_name printer_driver as part of the cupsaddsmb step.
Weirdly, it works for some printers, and never works for others, while all
the printers have the same settings. Samba 3.5.20 with CUPS 1.5.4.
Does this part of log give any clue of why could this happen?

Automatic forwarding of Xprint server displays?
Is it possible to enable automatic forwarding of Xprint server
displays? The -X/-Y switches just forward the video Xserver display
but it seems there is no way to get the Xprint server displays
forwarded, too.
Thanks...

Thanks very much for your quick response.

I just did and I now feel that something is wrong with
our Administrator-account.

NAV\Administator failes on our fileserver (INVALID PASSWORD).
