Samba and LDAP
After perusing the Samba 3.x docs and purchasing Terpstra's and Vernooij's excellent Samba-3 Howto, I am still unclear on LDAP authentication. Not a Windows admin so please bear with me. 1) Regarding the Samba schema, is there a tool to extract the Windows client information (sid, etc.) for populating an LDIF? Raymond

SAMBA + LDAP: can login to domain
Hello, I've tried to integrate samba 3.0.1 and LDAP 2.1.23 using the guide provided from http://www.hilinski.net/samba/. While the ldap+samba user authentication seems to work fine, I can't join the Domain from a Windows 2000 Client. The Domain is found and Name/Password Credentials are asked. I enter root and password and I get an error: Login Failure: Unknow username or bad

x509 patch for SSH
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi guys, been trying the x509 patch for ssh from Roumen, it works great. However, I can't figure out couple of things, and been trying to solve it for couple of days already. I'am using OpenSSH_4.7p1-hpn12v19, OpenSSL 0.9.8g with 6.1 version of your patch. The serverside hostkey is configured correctly, to present x509v3-sign-rsa dynowork

The login to samba network stopped working once i have installed SP1. generate interface MAC addresses in a particular order
Hi all, I am using libvirt to manage VM on my system; after creating a VM (default no NICs are present in the configuration) you can add any number of interfaces to it (as long as they exist on the host). To do that, I edit the configuration xlm: vmXml = self.domain.XMLDesc() root = ET.fromstring(vmXml) devices = root.find('./devices') intf =

sharing bookmarks with rsync
I would like to have my computer at home and my computer at work to share the same bookmarks. My idea was to have each of the computers sync with a server's bookmark file. If the client has a newer file than the server it would upload it, if the client has an older file it would download it. I already have the authentication keys set up and want to do it over ssh. Would this be one way to

RFC: Interface user provided vector functions with the vectorizer.
For example, Type 2 case, scalar-foo used call by value while vector-foo used call by ref. The question Johannes is asking is whether we can decipher that after the fact, only by looking at the two function signatures, or need some more info (what kind, what's minimal)? I think we need to list up cases of interest, and for each vector ABI of interest, we need to work on the requirements and

ldapsam:trusted = yes : trouble getting it to work
I have been trying for a while now to enable set the parameter ?ldapsam:trusted? to ?yes? in smb.conf but as soon as I enable it, users cannot access shares anymore. I am trying to enable this because the users are member of a lot of groups and I want to take the stress off the ldap server. I have searched the lists for previous posts with the same problem and I tried to figure out if it has been

My story installing Samba-LDAP PDC (it has a happy ending)
OK. I am starting to believe that Samba 3.0.x is not stable. At least, the documentation for Samba as PDC with OpenLDAP backend (which is what I have been trying to do for four days) is crap. All the documentation for 3.0.x is mixed with 2.2.x. Most documents start as instructions for 3.0.x but put a lot of information that doesn't apply to 3.0.x, but 2.2.x. People in the mailing list

[GSoC] Supporting Efficiently the Shift-vector Instructions of the Connex Vector Processor
Hello, Anton, I'd like to add a small reply regarding this GSoC project that I would like to mentor and I discussed also with Andrei. A good part of our GSoC project is indeed related to this Connex back end that it's not yet part of the LLVM source repository - an important thing proposed in the project is that we plan to perform efficient realignment for this Connex vector

[RFC] Expose user provided vector function for auto-vectorization.
> What is a `"logically"-widened alwaysinline wrapper for the vector function`? Can you provide an example? Also, what is the `tricky processing` you are referring to that the vectorizer should care about? For the case mentioned earlier: float MyAdd(float* a, int b) { return *a + b; } __declspec(vector_variant(implements(MyAdd(float *a, int b)),
