client connections to shares
Hi All, I am wondering: Is it possible for a windows client to use separate tcp/ip connection per share. Meaning that if we have SAMBA server that shares let's say three shares, then each client that connect to those shares (tcon) will end up having three tcp/ip connections with the server and of course there will be three separate smbd to handle each share. Essentially configuring SMBA

number of groups of NT account causes authentication problems
I am facing a strange problem related to authentication of NT users accessing the SAMBA server. Hi, I am trying to mount a Windows share using smbmount. On the Linux machine which is also the Samba server, this works fine. I also have an embedded system whose target is MIPS running on Linux. I cross compile samba for MIPS target ( only smbmount ) and try running it on my embedded system. Previously this use to work. Now there have been some changes in the target environment and i have to

2.2.7 and getting old SID
I am trying to migrate from a Samba 2.2.7 PDC to Samba 3, and I need the old domain SID. 2.2.7 doe not have the net tools, so net getlocalsid will not work, the 2.2.7 version of smbpasswd does not have the -X option (which www.richardsharpe.com talked about) and tdbdump dumps the SID in HEX, but I don't think I can use that (and I have been unsuccessful in converting to ASCII)... Is there any

smbmount, smbumount and smbmnt
Hi, I am deploying samba for an embedded system. The requirement is that the system should be able to mount windows share points. I believe "smbmount, smbumount and smbmnt" components are needed to do the same. I am not very clear about smbmnt though! I find that smbmount, smbumount and smbmnt are all quite huge. Around 300 to 400Kb each. I understand that Samba is capable of doing

Yet another rsync incremental thread
Hello all, Since the rsync on Panther many things changed in my professional life. This project is abandoned although it should work. But this you already know. What's new? On my new job I have several servers to administrate. Servers that aren't backed up (sic). So, there's why I'm back to rsync. The backup plan I would like: 1) Client side: PCs running rsync (or

[LLVMdev] MergeFunctions: reduce complexity to O(log(N))
Hi Stepan, Sorry for the delay. It's great that you are working on MergeFunctions as well and I agree, we should definitely try to combine our efforts to improve MergeFunctions. Just to give you some context, the pass (with the similar function merging patch) is already being used in a production setting. From my point of view, it would be better if we focus on improving its capability

[LLVMdev] MergeFunctions: reduce complexity to O(log(N))
Hello Sean and Tobias, Sean, Thank you. Could you describe Nick's ideas in few words or give me links to your discussion, so I could adapt my ideas to it. Tobias, Your patch fails on several modules in my benchmark (73 of ~1800 tests). I have sent one as attachment. See statistics files for more details, all the .ll files you could simply find in test-suite object directory (after
