Windows XP client - intermittent 'network name cannotbefound' loading profile

I have run the validation steps indicated in the book and all names are resolvable and reachable via hosts, DNS and WINS. [Fwd: Re: Windows XP client - intermittent 'network name cannot befound' loading profile]
Doesn't really resolve the issue, but in my case the problem went away when using physical machines rather than virtual machines. The environments are identical - RH ES 3.0 with Windows XP sp1a client (no hotfixes or GPO settings applied). Thanks for everyone's help. Windows XP client - intermittent 'network name cannot befound' loading profile
Hello Tim, I have verified and recreated your problem. As soon as I switch SAMBA option security=share , I have exactly the same problems like you, when trying to access a SAMBA share via Windows "Add Network Places" The only option I have to logon is DOOMIT\Guets (DOOMIT is the NetBIOS Name of my samba server). HOWEVER: There *aren't any* problems, if I try to map the share as

Appreciate if you can provide me some valuable information in this regard. Thanks Jatin

Optimum Block Size to use
Hi All We use CentOS 6.6 for our application. I have profiled the application and find that we have a heavy requirement in terms of Disk writes. On an average when our application operates at a certain load i can observe that the disk writes / second is around 2 Mbps (Average). The block size set is 4k ******************* [root at localhost ~]# blockdev --getbsz /dev/sda3 4096
