Transport endpoint is not connected
Hi,
I want to share a partition of an external disk between 3 machines. It
is located on a Sun StoreTek 3510 and bound (via multipathing) to all 3
machines.
One machine (say mach1) is the node I used to create the filesystem and
setup /etc/ocfs2/cluster.conf. I copied the file to the other 2
machines. All use the same /etc/multipath.conf[1], too. All start
/etc/init.d/ocfs2 at boot, all are

PXE/RIP-PXE
Hello syslinux Mailinglist ;)
I'm new to this mailing list, the RIP Readme brought me here.
I'm quite new to syslinux/pxelinux and im trying to set up some kind of
minimal linux which is bootable via lan.
I found the http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/
project, and what I read in the readme it will fit my needs.
Basic infos:

Can I use pxelinux to boot a cdrom image or isolinux from pxe?
Greetings,
I've been a user and fan of SYSLINUX for a couple of years now. I use PXELINUX
for a PXE server. I've only been able to boot linux kernel/initrd images and
dos bootdisks, however now I'm wanting to create a boot image for the 'Rescue
Is Possible' (RIP) linux recovery disk -

Adding Things to Rescue Mode
I'd like to add a few things to rescue mode. I'm tired of having to use
a floppy with hardware drivers when ever I need to go into rescue mode and
there are a few other utilities that I'd like to add as well. How would I go
about doing this? Any pointers to FAQ's or "How to's"? I've done some
searching, but haven't found anything recent enough to be

Invalid or corrupt kernel image
Hi,
I am trying to setup my own PXE boot server. I tried several PXE bootable Linux-Distributions.
For example if I use the ubuntu netboot image from [1] it works quit well but there are a few other images they do not work in my case e.g.: RIPLinuX [2]. A friend tested this image on his PXE boot server with success. I also checked the download with md5sum.
In my case I can see the boot menu [3].

Failure to boot isohybrid image from USB stick
Hi,
i did not succeed to get my test computer (Asus A7V8X-X
of 2004) to boot from an isohybrid image.
I tried
http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/RIPLinux-7.0-non-X.iso
which is obviously isohybrid enabled.
The system has a "Promise Ultra 133 TX2" IDE controller
which supercedes the mainboard BIOS.
To make the system react on the USB stick i set boot

isolinux 2.08: screen garbage when loading kernel?
I'm using the RIP Linux mini rescue distribution.
http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/
I have modified v. 7.0 for usage on our 32 node Tyan Tiger MPX Linux
cluster with a serial console. Because of a bug with Grub on this
motherboard when running headless and using a serial console I use the
optional Isolinux version 2.08 also included with RIP Linux to boot from

[PATCH] HDT: Fix cursor on exit from Menu Mode
From: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com>
CMenu: Fix cursor on exit from showmenus()
Signed-off-by: Gene Cumm <gene.cumm at gmail.com>
This fixes the issue in hdt.c32 that Kent Robotti noticed where
exiting directly from Menu Mode caused the cursor to not be displayed.
This same issue also affects com32/cmenu/simple.c32 and probably
others using showmenus().

[PATCH] klibc: default initramfs content stored in usr/initramfs.default
Harcoding default content of initramfs in the gen_initramfs_list.sh
script seems ackward. Move it to a file named:
usr/initramfs.default
This also fixes a small bug when no arguments was passed to
CONFIG_INITRAMFS_SOURCE (-d was passed twice to the script)

[PATCH] klibc: rebuild cpio image when content changes
Generate dependencies almost like done by fixdep in the kernel.
This teaches make to rebuild cpio image when content has changed.
Also restructured usr/Kbuild a little so we better utilise parallel
makes (dash, gzip, utils and kinit are now build in parallel).

CentOS 5.0 install fails every time.
Hey all,
I've downloaded the latest CentOS 5.0 and the md5sums look good. I
loop-back mounted the ISOs and pulled all of the RPMs out into a
single dir. I have an existing PXE environment with several different
distros to which I added 5.0. RPMs are served from my HTTPS server.
I used the isolinux.cfg that was provided and all *looks* good.
The problem is that on 4 *very* different

[PATCH] klibc: fix gen_initramfs_init.sh when using -d
gen_initramfs_list.sh failed to generate a dependency list when
it was supplied the -d option.
Restructured gen_initramfs_list.sh to support dependency info with -d.
This also fixes a bug where we did not properly process
when more than one dir was specified.
Finally update dependency info for the -d case (list_default_initramfs)
In usr/Kbuild remove "" around CONFIG_RAMFS_SOURCE so the

rescue?
Probably a simple question, but humor me:
Let''s say I have a page (in Rails) that lets a user type a shell
command (say, ''ping blah.com'') into a form and it fires off a worker
that then updates that page using AJAX (all of this is working so far).
How would I correctly wrap the worker in a begin..rescue so that it
spits out ''invalid command''

Can not rescue ferret exception. What is wrong?
Hi,
I have a big index and wildcard query raises an exception. That is all
right. The problem is I can not rescue this exception and it bombs right
to user page. Why?
I am on Linux. Ferret 0.9.3 with C extentions.
