SLES 10 - Winbind-problem
Hi Gurus! Hope you can help me - I'm trying to get my SLES 10 SP2-box to authenticate users against Windows AD using Winbind, but I can't get it to work as I want. I have configured smb, winbind and Kerberos, and kinit, list, net ads join, wbinfo etc. works fine - but when I try to login, user xx.xx.admin, it fails. This is what I got in my /var/log/warn: eb 6 12:15:09

Samba, Kerberos, Autofs: Shares get disconnected
Hi Rowland yes sure I know who user '0' is ;-) so where should the ticket be then? I just rebooted the PC and logged in via SSH as root. There is no ticket for the machine :-( even though, the Active Directory join seems to be OK, as "net ads testjoin" says so. I am still a bit lost on how I should proceed. To have this all working more or less, I just mounted the shares with

netlogon shares
Hi I have a Samba server running 1.9.18p7 on a Solaris 2.5 machine. It is set up with a netlogon share. I have 4 Win95 PCs for which I have created identical <machinename>.bat files in the netlogon directory. However, only one of those PCs is running the 'root preexec' script and running the commands in %m.bat. Anyone have any idea why ? I've appended the global and netlogon

Help with ADS authentication and Samba
Hi there, just recently joined this list as I seem to be having a little trouble that I am hoping someone can help with. I recently installed a RHEL5.5 server and updated samba to samba3-3.4.11-42.el5.x86_64.rpm. I had never set up samba to authenticate with ADS so I read a little bit and dove right in. The server now works fine, so when I browse to \\machinename<file:///\\machinename> no

Creating maching trust accounts
Hello, I have created a machine trust account with the following command 'pdbedit -a -m -u machinename' and I noticed that after I execute the following command 'pdbedit -L -v -u machinename', the Unix username is in lowercase letters? Because when I attempt to join a domain with a Windows 8.1 machine, it emits a error that it can't find the Machine account? Does it
