3.0.2a - homes occasionally missing
Clients are Windows 2000; server is running Samba version 3.0.2a. We're experiencing a sporadic issue with the homes share occasionally coming up missing. All other shares remain mappable and accessable. If the workstation is rebooted, it can once again access the share. This is new behavior; 2.2.8a did not have this problem. As of yet I haven't been able to figure out what

Samba 3.0.11 with Winbind running on Redhat Enterprise Linux 3, compiled with --with-pam (possibly another argument that I can't remember at this second). I applied it to my DC that is playing the PDC role today and all of a sudden Winbind could not enumerate any Active Directory information. Mind you, I'm not joined to the domain using Kerberos/ADS; the libs that come with RHEL3 are

Samba 3.0.13 and deleting files
I haven't seen a solution yet, but here's what I'm running into: 3.0.13 with Winbind on Redhat Enterprise Linux 3, compiled with --with-pam as well as attempts with that and --with-acl-support - note that though the samba server is a member of a 2003 AD but not using "net ads" but "net rpc", everything works as desired on 3.0.11 (which I went back to to get this

3.0.23 and group behavior
Okay, first the admisssions: I'll admit that I haven't been following the development as closely as I probably should have. And I'll admit in this case I might not be using Samba in the most efficient way possible. Also, I'm not 100% sure if I'm encountering a bug or just a seriously stupid misconfiguration issue. And I'm still collecting data on exactly what happened.

Windows 2000 Domain Controller Security Setting
I sent an email last night regarding a security issue we were having with our Windows 2000 domain controllers and Samba's interaction with them. It turns out part of the issue is that security settings don't propagate to the domain controllers without rebooting them all. But, slightly contrary to my previous email: The application to view these settings is (on a domain controller):

Status of Merb on JRuby
I''ve submitted a few patches on Trac to help get Merb running under JRuby [0][1][2][3][4]. It''d be cool if any of you committers could find the time to look them over and apply/reject them. They''re mostly tiny, so it shouldn''t be too onerous. With all of these patches applied, there are still 3 spec failures. One is in the spec ''a merb mailer

saving plots
Hi all, I am have an R script that makes many plots, and I would like to string them into a movie file. To do that I have to save all of my plots as jpegs or gifs. I don't want to go through all of my plots and save them by hand though. Is there a way to automate saving the plots as a gif or a jpeg so I can string them into a movie? Thanks in advance Matt Oliver

FXS Card Recommendation
I'd like to play with Asterisk and learn more. I have an FXO card but need a station card. Can you recommend a cheap and readily available FXS card that supports 1-4 stations? Also, a peer of mine asked if any work has been done with cell phone integration such that the phone could be used as either an FXO or FXS device. Many thanks. -- Regards, Scott Dudley

Compiling openssh-3.9p1 Without Kerberos
I'm trying to compile openssh-3.9p1 for an embedded Linux distro without kerberos support. I pass the flag --without-kerberos5 to configure and the script output indicates that I've chosen to not link against the kerberos libs: OpenSSH has been configured with the following options: User binaries: /usr/local/bin System binaries: /usr/local/sbin

Having a problem ...
Running a Windows 2000 domain; recently we've made some security changes to deny anonymous users from being able to get at our user list. It would appear that one of my Domain Controllers hadn't been rebooted after that security change, and now that it has been rebooted, I can't mount smb shares off of one of our if the security setting is in place. On a Windows 2000 Domain

Urgent RHL Samba problem update
We have Red Hat linux 3.0 ES. We had samba set up so that it would authenticate against the linux password file/database. That is the set up we have had here for the past two years, firstly with RH linux ES 2.1 and now with RH linux ES 3.0. Our users have Windows XP/2000 PC's, and when they would use the net use command on their PC (or mount network drives via Windows Explorer) it would
