Hi!
I have the same problem with my PDC.
Work fine:
Modify the script for add samba attribute ( three lines)
Execute manually the entry (with smbldap-useradd.pl -w machine1)
Try to join the domain
Don't work :
Samba call the smbldap-useradd -w %u and the script is not modified.
I use samba 3.0.2a RH 8.0 openldap 2.1.25

Updated Cray patch against openssh SNAP-20010725
This patch fixes my botched attempted to patch deattack.c.
I created a bsd-cray.h file and cleaned up a few error cases
in bsd-cray.c. Fixed cray_setup call to pass uid and login name
in session.c and moved its call so that its called with root privs.
Its been tested on a irix, sun, aix, unicos(SV1) and unicosmk(T3E)
systems.
If you are building this on a T3E you may have to edit the Makefile

rsync for cray t3e's
hi there--
i'm rather new to rsync, but I've been very happily using it for around
a month or two now, and I keep finding all kinds of new uses for it.
one thing i've been doing lately is using rsync to keep all my config
files in sync on the 20 some-odd machines on which I have accounts. I
was just setting this up for an account i have on a cray t3e machine

Interacting with dendrogram plots, locator() or click()
I would like to explore dendrogam plots interactively. For example, click on a node and return information about all of the children of that node.
Is there a high level wrapper for locator() or click() that will return the nearest dendrogram node on a plot?
If not, is there a way to obtain the [x,y] coordinates of all the nodes on a plot?
Thanks,

q() ==> Segmentation fault
I created the simple library, attached. When I terminate an R session
where the library has been loaded with q() a segmentation fault is
thrown. Is there any cleaning that I should be doing?

or from shell:
$ R CMD BATCH r.in

Looking for a quick way to combine rows in a matrix
I'm working with genotype data in a frequency table:
> a=matrix(1:16, nrow=4)
> rownames(a)=c("AA","AT","TA","TT")
> a
[,1] [,2] [,3] [,4]
AA 1 5 9 13
AT 2 6 10 14
TA 3 7 11 15
TT 4 8 12 16
'AT' and 'TA' are essentially the same, and I'd like to combine (add) the rows to reflect

conditional value assignment
Dear R-Help,
I am trying to compute a new variable, let's call it "target cannon orientation (tco)" based conditionally on old variables, "TargetColor," "CannonOriB," and "CannonOriR." For every case in the data set, if TargetColor is "B" then I want tco to equal the value for that case of CannonOirB, else CannonOriR. I've tried writing

Getting R and .Rdata together again
Somehow, I've managed to have my .Rdata files become `disassociated'
from the R program. I am running Windows XP Pro. I have re-installed R
2.4 in an attempt to have it re-associate itself with .Rdata files, but
to no avail. .Rdata files are now associated with a file compression
program or alternatively with Rgui.exe. .Rdata files are represented by
the blue R, but double-clicking on

Samba serving files with *very* long access times
I access files on our Cray T3E from my Windows 2000 PC via a Samba share.
One of the volumes on the T3E is managed by Cray's Data Migration facility
(DMF). The majority of the DMF files are stored off-line and restored to
disk as necessary. This operation typically takes 3-5 minutes.
Normally when a Windows 2000 application tries to read data from one of the
off-line files--even if it's

client-server setup for R
I am currently the only use-R at my company, but they are considering
buy a more powerful server and letting multiple people use it. They
asked me if R supports client-server setups. I know S+ has a server
version that does that. I didn't find anything about that on CRAN,
but hopefully someone can correct me.
I did see some stuff about R web servers
