API changes for Speex 1.2
Hi, Speex is progressing and I've started thinking about the next 1.2 release (don't hold your breath). Though the bit-stream won't change, the API likely will. The API for 1.1.x already differs from 1.0.x because the speex_encode and speex_decode now use shorts instead of floats. Now, since I'm changing the API anyway, I thought I might as well fix things that might be annoying

You're using Windows, right? The project file is simply out of date. The denoise.c file has been renamed to preprocess.c > Another question, when will a stable

can't logon to voice mail - bad password

Playback too slow?!
I tried encoding http://home.tange.dk/theora/stream.dump with http://home.tange.dk/theora/optag-dvd 4. From that I got http://home.tange.dk/theora/dvd-4.theora.ogg. mplayer stream.dump works fine, but when playing the theora encoded file on my 2 GHz computer both mplayer and xine take 85% of my CPU while X takes the remaining 15% (i.e. 0% idle time) and the playback is no way near smooth. Multichannel Speex
Hello! The question is: "Does Speex support multiple channels?" Speex is reported to encode only mono and stereo signals. But I found 'nb_channel' defined in <speex_header.h> among the Public Attributes. Does this mean that it is also possible to store more than two channels in one single speex-file? Maybe it will be possible in the next future...? TIA -- Mch --- >8

Local GID conflicted with domain GID. Samba can't connect to shares
Hey All, RedHat 9.0 samba-3.0.10-1* * I was attempting to allow several domain users the ability to log into my domain controller with their logins. Because the server had no local group set up for the users, I created them with the groupadd utility. About 10 minutes later I got a call from my users telling me they couldn't access their network shares because the drives hadn't been

[Samba 4.3.11] Changing GID of "domain users" - wbinfo shows still the old GID
Hi working on Ubuntu server 16.04.1 with Samba Version 4.3.11-Ubuntu I have an AD-DC and a Domain Member for file sharing All tests are OK. Loggon with remote profiles works. Today I changed (ldbedit) the GID of the Domain Users from 5000 to 10001 (No files will be generated with this GID. It is here only for wbinfo to work). The change was accepted. ldbsearch on the AD-DC shows the new GID of

Samba 3.3.2: idmap uid or idmap gid missing -- winbindd/idmap_tdb
I've recently upgraded to 3.3.2. I run a small domain using tbdsam. I am getting the following error logged in /var/log/messages: Jul 14 08:34:07 localhost winbindd[1727]: [2009/07/14 08:34:07, 0] winbindd/idmap.c:idmap_alloc_init(587) Jul 14 08:34:07 localhost winbindd[1727]: ERROR: Initialization failed for alloc backend, deferred! and in /var/log/samba/log.winbindd-idmap I

Samba SID/RID, UID/GID Best Practices?
I have a new Samba 3 domain backed by LDAP. I am using Fedora-DS for LDAP component, so I have relied on a blend of tools to get up and running including Fedora-DS console and phpLDAPAdmin and (momentarily!) sambaldap-tools. I am generally following the great IDEALX How-To but having to adapt it somewhat. Standards for well-know Samba groups like "Domain Admins" were easy to

pam_mount with uid and gid
Hi, I use pam_mount to mount each user's home directory when he logs in. It works just fine with this line in the pam_mount.conf : volume * smb myserver & /home/& uid=&,workgroup=MYDOMAIN - - (the & here is replaced by the user name when pam_mount is invoked) As you can see, the group id (gid) is not specified because I can't find any clue of how to tell pam_mount to set

UID and GID mappings
With a smb.conf like the following where does samba store the UID to GID mappings? Is there a way to view this? Also can't I use a method that converts SIDs to UIDs and GIDs on a consistent basis? Thanks Mark #======================= Global Settings ===================================== [global] workgroup = XXX server string = Samba Server security = ads encrypt passwords

SEC: UNCLASSIFIED:-Could not convert sid to gid
I'm using a Proliant GL-380 server running Red Had Linux ES 4 (2.6.9-5.0.3.ELSMP) and Samba 3.0.10-1.4E. The server is acting as a Domain Member Server of an ADS Windows 2003 server. The problem I haveI been having is with some groups not being "migrated" to the Linux environment, or more specifically converting the group SIDs to GIDs. The problem can be summarised as follows: *

aufs uid gid problem
Hi all, I'm using glusterfs in comination with aufs. With aufs I mount a read-only directory from the local harddisk and a writable directory from the glusterfs together. It works fine, so far. The only problem occurs if I change a file insides a directory of the read-only directory. Aufs normal behavior is to create the directory structure for the changed file in the writable directory and

Force group gid
Hi All, I note from previous posts that the uid & gid are not supported in smb.conf. My issue is that I have mysql auth backend for ftp sites, that I'd like to share directories for internal access. There is currently no way I can see to force the user or group using uid & gid for this type of backend. Can anyone offer any suggestions as a work around to this? Cheers, Lewis
