Asterisk on MS Virtual Server
Hi, This might not be a very popular question, but I was just wondering if anyone have ever tried to run Asterisk on a Windows computer using Microsoft Virtual Server (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/virtualserver/default.mspx). I am told that you can run Linux on a virtual server using this software, so in theory it should be possible. I run a windows based domain, but am also

RE: FS: Cyclades PC300/TE2 Dual T1 Interface PCI Card For LinuxPC!
I hope this isn''t too far off topic. I did a little bit of pricing homework a few months ago on new T1 cards. The idea was to build a Linux based router/firewall. After all, Ethernet NICs are easily available for less than $10 today. But all the T1 cards I found cost a fortune. And about a year ago, I learned the list price for a complete Adtran Netvanta 3200 router with T1 card is

attempting login with hostname not username
Hi. I'm running a RH 9 machine with Samba 3.0.0 as a domain member of a Win2003 ADS domain. I've setup samba w/ winbind and added a test share on the Linux box. I can see and access Windows shares from my Linux box, but I cannot access the Linux share from a Win2k machine. I can see the Linux machine and the just fine when browsing the network, but when I attempt to access the share I

Windows 7/Samba unable to log in via name, works by IP
Hi, I'm hoping someone can help with this. We have a 3.3.8 Samba server, on Centos 5.5 64, security DOMAIN, works beautifully with XP. When windows 7 systems attempt to log in via \\NAME, the login window just continually repeats, but they can login successfully when using \\IP_ADDRESS Samba log shows the below in response to windows 7 login attempts. UNIX local accounts not being authenticated
Greetings, I am running Samba 2.0.6 onn my Solaris 7 box. It's running well, except; I can't seem to get local UNIX accounts to work. All my users in my NIS database get authenticated without a problem, but since I want to give access to some shares without creating an NIS, thereby creating a local machine account, it prompts for a password and is denied. Access is given, to Windows

Winamp3 is broken according to some posts here. Try Winamp 2.91 or the latest XMMS. Of course, XMMS requires the xmms-mp3 libraries. Try that and see if it helps. Thanks, all, for the pointers. I think I have everything configured properly, but, something is obviously still wrong. I'm using Kerry's guide with these xml files: - Sample icecast.xml - Configuration for Streaming Live Audio I started icecast & ices as directed. I then started xmms and configured the output plugin to be the OSS driver. I'm playing a music cd. This is all on my

Should I actually have a "radiofree.ogg" file being written on my Linux box? If so, I don't see it. I'll try a different player as well. --- Kerry Cox <kerry.cox@ksl.com> wrote: > Winamp3 is broken according to some posts here. Try > Winamp 2.91 or the > latest XMMS. Just a note: This is similar to the problems I am (still) having. I too am using Redhat9 (Icecast2 and Ices2). I've used Winamp2 (Zinf tells me the data is corrupted), but instead of the high-pitched noise you describe - I get dead silence. Of course, everything leads me to believe that the connection is healthy and the stream is working. There's a

That is set up via the config file and is used for accessing the stream. I do not believe there is ever any static radiofree.ogg file created. It is used for streaming purposes only. Though I could be wrong. I just have never bothered to look. Someone correct me if I am. KJ On Fri, 2003-09-12 at 16:14, Jeff Ousley wrote: > Should I actually have a "radiofree.ogg" file being >
