Good News, ou=computer works! :-)
I'm just storing machine accounts under ou=computer,ou=site,dc=domain,dc=com and it works.
Tested with W2K sp2 and W2K sp3, recreating from fresh ldif 2 times were never failed. Im sure it is 'stable' right now :-)
'works' means it was able to add machine trust on-the-fly, or using manual creation with smbpasswd command.
The key is in not to use

Hows samba calculating sambaPwdMustChange?
When samba password has been expired, user are force to change their password from client WS.
Samba will modify sambaPwdMustChange attribute and the value seems always "2147483647", this not happen when changin password with smbpasswd.
>From where samba calculate value for "sambaPwdMustChange"? is it constant?
Is it possible to specify different value?

Réf. : Re: Réf. : Re: using a master ldap server and a slave ldap server for one samba
If the first LDAP server faild, the second can be used directly.
This server is a PDC server with more than 100 people connected and some
application required domain authentification for running.
For me is a critical server.

error adding a user
Sorry for (I'm shure) my stupid question (and my bad english)...
If this is not the right place to post this kind of question forgive me
and please point me to the right mailinglist.
I've a Samba 3 that works with an openldap server as a sole domain controller.
I used to use the Microsoft usermanager.
After a general migration/upgrate I am not able to create new users anymore.
I can do

secrets_fetch_trusted_domain_password
It apparently samba stored trusted info on secret.tdb so only samba PDC was able to retrieve this info, am I correct? (though trust account waqs stored in ldap).
I can't browse samba BDC from (trusted) NT domain, it always ask for username/password again.
samba domain = IRSJKT
NT domain = DOMJKT
msg from samba BDC :

If i can make a request...
Well, i'm just ordinary samba user, but if i can make a request for
next samba release:
1. Samba should support ldap referral and has appropriate waiting
slave database synchronized. ie, in smb.con we can give:
passdb backend = ldapsam:"ldap://slave1 ldap://slave2 ldap://master"
sync timout = 10
or user shoud manually tell where is the master and slave:

Manual creation of machine trust and comments on Samba books
I just receive a copy of the official samba 3 howto, to be honest i'm rather disapoint with the content and layout. Well with free online version, i can't complaint, but with 'paid' version maybe i can complain to the author :-).
Most of the contents are still the old documentation with few 'little' updation for samba3. Imo, its better if it can be rewrite from scratch

Dovecot, postifx, virtual domains and deliver, what about luser_relay/fallback_relay?
I've read documentation (obviously not the right parts) and googled, but
I can't seem how to solve this simple problem:
I have a machine running postfix/dovecot and using virtual domains,
delivery happens with dovecot's LDA. I also have an Exchange machine
that I have to house some of the users of a given domain.
How can I tell either postifx in general or dovecot's LDA that

Repost: Cached credentials not working
Hello all,
I'm setting up a domain using Samba 3.0 as PDC, with WinXP clients. One
of these clients is a laptop, which should be able to use cached
profiles of the domain users. Online logon is working fine, however when
the domain server is not available it cannot logon, whereas it should be
able to use cached credentials to access the cached profile. Windows
says it cannot log on because

Using LLD to link against third-party libraries? How?
In my code here https://github.com/DragonOsman/currency_converter , I used C++17 and managed to get it to work (though I'm only using std::map::insert_or_assign() from C++17). And I'm using Windows, so I shouldn't use LDFLAGS or CXXFLAGS as environment variables. I'll use them directly on the compiler command line instead. The libraries I need to link against are
