Interested? To join us and hear about Media5 form Pascal Dore, see http://vuc.me Speaking of mobile, if any of you know the people who are developing the SIP client for Android, we'd love to

Icecast relay with backup - loops backup for too long
My listeners connect to a publicly accessible Icecast server with the config below. Between broadcasts it uses a fallback mp3, which loops. During broadcasts it relays from a local Icecast server that I broadcast to (config also below). I am aiming for approx 30-45 seconds buffering, as the connection from public to local icecast server is 'less than ideal'. The set up is working fine

PTY-Allocation under SCO 5
Hello, I used the sshd under SCO 5, and always get the error that the deamon couldn't allcoate a pseudo tty. This depends on that SCO use a different method to create the tty's in the /dev directory. The pseudo tty line looks like: /dev/ttypXXX where XXX depends on the number of pseudo tty's entered in the scoadmin Tool for the network interface. So I change the allocation routine in

mapping multiple groups with: net groupmap?
Sorry if this is obvious but I'm not up to speed yet with Samba 3. Google turned up this command: net groupmap modify ntgroups="Domain users" unixgroup=users which would be all fine and dandy if everybody was in the same primary group, which they are not, since it completely defeats the purpose of having groups in the first place. On my system we currently have 87 groups (one

rsync-3.1.0 --chown, --usermap, and --groupmap ignored?
The man page describes options --chown, --usermap, and --groupmap, but these seem to be silently ignored beyond validating that the user and groups do indeed exist. Is the following supposed to work? $ touch a $ rsync --chown=http:http a b $ ls -l a b -rw-r--r-- 1 jed jed 0 Oct 14 02:44 a -rw-r--r-- 1 jed jed 0 Oct 14 02:45 b $ chown http:http b chown: changing ownership of 'b':

Unable to get groupmap to work with LDAP
I believe I have everything setup correctly on my RH9 server running Samba 3.0.3.rc1 and openLDAP 2.1.22. I can join computers to the domain and authenticate to the domain without any problems. What I am having problems with is trying to do a group map so Domain Admins have administrative rights on the workstation when they login. I can get this to work on non LDAP setups by issuing net

Hello, User can ssh into the box fine, but the directories I groupmapped are not translating (maybe they are not supposed to?) I have, for example, a share called Share_Dfsroot_pvcs-cdw_C that I used net groupmap to map to a unix directory called cdw. I set the group id to match what Share_Dfsroot_pvcs_cdw_C uses in /etc/group. I chgrp cdw on a directory. When the user logs into the server,
