Has anyone already worked out the files involved in changing from the rather pedestrian screensaver to some more pleasing eye candy like Fedora Core 5 uses? thnx/ldv

[RFC] Make Lanai backend non-experimental
Hi Chandler, I think you have good points. Maybe we could make some hard-lined rules and others as "nice-to-have". The biggest problem is the community behind it, outside of LLVM. If the community is strong, and they care about LLVM support, than we can keep their back-ends in tree and not have to worry about them. IIRC, our *only* rule for a long time has been "keep up or give

Using of pxelinux configfiles for both BIOS and UEFI boot
Hello everyone, I'm using a windows PXE server and I try to upgrade a existing PXELINUX menu structure with actually with BIOS/Legacy mode to work in UEFI mode too. Since I have to use ZENworks tftp on the windows server I have only one TFTP-root directory not 2 different tftp-root directories like on a standard windows deployment server. ZENworks itself uses for Legacy mode a patched

how do I export nt2k policy to a file?
We migrated our entire domain over to a samba3 domain, now I would like to apply a few policies to the network. I've been reading a few migration papers, most mention about a .POL file which is created upon exporting policy keys on a wintel machine. Using gpedit I don't see an export option. What tool should I use for this? greg

Remote control to RDP opened session
Hello, We struggle with a strange problem trying to remotely contol RDP session opened to a XEN Fully virrualized XinXP guest. We built a xen XP desktop guest, equivalent to our normal physical desktops, we use novell network, and Zenworks to distribute applicatione etc.. The virtual XP guest behaves exactly the same way as the physical one, but we faced the following issue: users access their

bootable dvd
Is it possible to use isolinux to create a bootable dvd? I have a .iso that boots fine from cd but not from dvd. I have a Dell OptiPlex GX240 with dvd/cd drive. Dont know for sure if the bios requires an update to boot dvd. Any info would be appreciated. Boot into operating system after PXE boot
Hi all, I would like to check with you all if the following is possible: I'd like to combine G4L (Ghost clone) with PXE (been done before) but in such a way that an option in LDAP is checked after booting with PXE. If it's set, a certain program is executed with certain parameters (G4L), if not, the PC should continue to boot in it's installed operating system. Is the latter

[Fwd: Re: Drag and Drop and Crash]
Hello List, Please read Tom's email below. Has some interesting findings. The affected machine I dealt with also had symantec on it. Since the repair though there hasn't been a problem. The user even re-applied the patches. This is to weird. HTH -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: [Samba] Drag and Drop and Crash Date: Mon, 16 Apr 2007 18:12:47 -0700 From: Thomas

Time Delay Estimation
Here's a question that may seem strange. Does the echo canceller maintain some data structure that I might be able to use if I wanted to estimate the amount of delay between the near-end and far-end signals? I'd like to be able to do this in order to optimally align the signals before passing them to the canceller. There seem to be many milliseconds of latency in a Wintel audio subsystem

Entry level IP phone
Hi, Happy New Year to all of you! I was wondering what would be the best recommended entry level IP phone that works well with * if buying say around 10 handsets. Linksys spa-941 and the grandstream gxp-2000 look like good phones but I'm open to recommendations Cheers, Reggie -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Yet I have a customer that has been on hold for over 8 minutes. Any Ideas? =================================================== pbx*CLI> show agents 301 (Lee) not logged in (musiconhold is

Samba & Tivoli Storage Mgr (TSM) Integration Query ???
All, Can anyone confirm that Samba/Solaris will integrate with TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager) when deployed into a Wintel client environment. ie. Solaris/Samba as a TSM client - we need to be sure that the ACL's will be maintained correctly via a TSM backup/restore (full or partial) Or confirm this does not work, which is not what we want to hear - but the truth will suffice. Many thanks,
