Samba & Terminal Services / Citrix
Hello!
I have heard that there is a problem with using Samba along with Windows
Terminal Services and that it's related to session IDs with multiple users
coming from one server.
I'm in the process of moving to Windows Server 2003 using Citrix and hoping
to be able to revive our samba use.
Has anyone had any success with using samba in a Terminal Server / Citrix
environment?
Thanks

Samba 3 and Windows 2000 (SP4) Terminal Server
Hello,
at this time we're using s. 2.2.8a (running on SuSE-Linux StandardServer 8 -
Kernel 2.4.21) as fileserver for our terminal server environment. We ran
into the 128 connections per client limitation and had to modify the
MAX_CONNECTIONS-parameter in smbd/conn.c. Now we're planning the migration from s.
2.2.8a to s. 3.0.1. Is the modification in smbd/conn.c still necessary, when using

Problem starts at 40 to 50 users logged on. 7-9 shares mapped at login. Effect is

Windows 2000 Terminal Server Connections
We have "upgraded" from NT Terminal Server to Wk2.
In Windows NT we set the registry MulitpleUsersOnConnection = false.
What is thier in equivilance for Windows 2000? Our Samba is running out of
free connections per Terminal Server. Currently that number is 128.
We have 5 terminal servers and each server spawns a single smbd process with
128 connections.

Samba 3.0.7 PDC + W2K terminal server + profiles
Hello,
I'm a bit unclear about domain control with Samba3 and windows terminal
server.
I would like to have a samba PDC + shares for roaming terminal server
profiles (W2K).
I'm trying now with tdbsam backend ; after that I will try with ldap.
With pdbedit I can modify the roaming profile path, but I can't modify the
terminal server profile path ?
Has anybody tried this

W2K Services connecting to Samba Share
We are running an HP/UX 11.0 server that is sharing out a filesystem. We
used to share it out via NFS and have NFS NT clients map this drive and then
perform a network share of it. This allows our application (which runs as
an NT/W2K Service) to see this drive and use it.
With Samba, I was able to create a batch file that I could run as a service
to perform the drive mapping, but because I am

W2K and Samba Print Services: Access Deny
Hello
We've been running samba with LPD hooked up to two
HP 5SI prionters through a deskject Direct card.
Occassionally, it stop working. And the clients get an
access deny messages which seems to be meaningless.
This usually happens when the printer jam. But it doesn't
seem to come back to a stable configuration either with the
W2K drivers or the deskject direct cards.

Estimado Javier,
Gracias por tu mensaje.
No, lo unico que requiero es la lista de números (i1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,

Saludos cordiales,
Jorge.-

Thank you for the config file snippets. I can confirm mine were almost identical, so I've tweaked them so that they are now exactly the same as yours except for the "--require-membership-of=example\authorization_groupname" line in ntlm_auth.
Unfortunately it's still erroring out:

Windows Terminal Services
I install a PDC in a server with Red Hat Linux 7.3 and Samba 2.2.4.
We have another server with W2K Server and Windows Terminal Services installed.
I can connect from workstations to the Samba PDC and with rdesktop I can connect to Windows Terminal Server.
Now, I want to create a group for Terminal Services users and define a policy for that users. Any idea?

SV: Samba-Citrix compatability
I have searched for some FAQ/HOWTO regarding Citrix/Metaframe to no
avail. (Like this one
http://samba.org/~jht/HOWTO/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.pdf )
What I would like to see in such a FAQ/HOWTO:
- Compilation issues regarding Citrix/metaframe
- - ie the need to increase the MAX_CONNECTION setting before
compilation
- - ie how to compile samba to a 64 bit application to get more

ActiveRecord does not close database connections?
I have an application that creates quite a few threads. I keep getting
the "mysql too many connections" error.
ActiveRecord does not close the connection once a thread had died out.
To make things worse mysql has a wait_timeout variable that would
basically kill off these connections for me, but there is a bug and I
can not change the value of it. I have tried at least 10 different
