Strange behavior WinXP and 2.2.8a and inherit permissions
Hi, I have a quite strange problem. I have updated my Server with Suse 9.0 to Samba 2.2.8a. From that moment on I couln'd run programms directly from the share anymore. The WinXP Client says: "you dont have the permission for this file." But I have all permissions for it. This only occurs in that shares where I have set "inherit permissions" to yes. When I set it to

I am googling around for an issue and can't figure it out so far. Status: 2 Debian 9.3 ADCs with samba-4.6.12 each. 1 Gentoo Samba Domain Member server "main", Samba version 4.5.15 (we downgraded because of another issue a month ago or so). *one* AD user is able to log into his Windows10 PC, but doesn't get a network share connected. If I test that from the DM server or the

samba upload crashes system
Hi, I've got a modded NAS with a patched kernel 3.8.3 whenever I try to upload a file larger than a few bytes from windows, the nas crashes completely. Creating folders, downloading and browsing works fine. I could not find any entry in the logs. Everything else works fine, the kernel usually is stable except this samba issue. How do I hunt down this problem? thanks for any help, JPT

Hai, That bond0 interface, you might want to change that the interface name to bond1 Depending on the bonding settings, you might have hit a reserved name. I lots my docu on that but i know i configured a bond1 because bond0 didn work right. And then check these. wbinfo -pPt ( or wbinfo -p && wbinfo -P && wbinfo -t ) wbinfo --sids-to-unix-ids S-1-22-2-10513 wbinfo -D

Access Problems
Hello, I have a very strange access problem, and do not know how to get rid of it. We have a server with a Raid 1 installed running under SuSE 9.2 (Samba 3.0.9-2.3). There are some shares where several users need access to. The permissions of the directories are rwxrwxr-x user1 users when files on that shares are accessed by a Windows Client a strange behaviour occurs. Accessing files

mixed csv and csv2
Dear all, I have a huge problem after downloading and exporting data from Reuters3000 XTra: I downloaded many many monthly, quarterly and yearly data. I do not know why, but after saving, I have mixed-data sets, i.e. files which can be imported as “read.csv” and others that are in the format of “read.csv2”. Sure I could change them, but normally it should be possible to mix them… For
