Samba mapped drive to XP on logon
Hi- I'm having a recurring problem with Windows XP and a Samba share on logon. More specifically, I have a Samba (v 3.0.24 on Debian Etch) share with share permissions (not a domain) mapped to a drive in Windows XP Pro. Whenever someone logs onto an XP Pro computer in the network the drive isn't there. Here's an example: Say there's a document on the shared drive and a

Browse list only shows Samba server
Hi all, I'm having a small problem with browsing. I've got a network full of Windows (2000 and XP) machines and I've installed a Samba server in it. The server is configured to be Domain Master Browser (DMB), Local Master Browser (LMB) and WINS server for a workgroup. The Win machines are configured to use the WINS server. Name resolution works perfectly, but browsing

Client accessing Samba doesn't authenticate against Active Directory
When a Windows client attempts to browse shares on a Samba 3.0 server authenticating against a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain, it requests credentials. Typing in user name and password fails. Basically, I can't see even see the shares. If I give username/password for a user in smbpasswd, then I can browse the Samba server. Configuration info: ADS server: LICENSE ADS server IP:

I have a single SuSE Samba PDC (only DC) domain w/three winxp using roaming profiles. I have no local domain accounts on any machine. Said setup has been stable for many weeks; I updated from 3.0.5-SUSE to 3.0.7-1.1-SUSE rpm (samba.org) tonight and converted from smbpasswd:/etc/samba/smbpasswd -> tdbsam:/etc/samba/passdb.tdb My task is to define logon hours for my kids to prevent the urge to

Netlogon no longer works in 2.2.6 with W2k client
Hi, We've got a fairly simple samba setup (no ldap/winbind etc) and until recently everything worked fine (using samba-2.2.5). But after switching to samba-2.2.6 w2k-clients fail to run the netlogon-scripts. When i look at the client it says: logonserver=\\<workstationname> BTW. The output of "nmblookup -S CPB" (to me) seems to say that CPB is the logonserver. querying CPB

I came across an issue with uid:gid on the server indicating Nemo does not pick up file ownership from the
