Significance of port 655?
Hi I'm new to tinc vpn and I am currently exploring a use-case we have, of creating a secure mesh over which our own services may run. This may be a basic question, I wasn't able to find a satisfying answer. What is the significance of port 655 with regards to tinc? Lets consider a 4 node setup: We have nodes: [protected] : protected behind a private network in the cloud [bastion]:

Security implications of using ControlMaster
Dear Mailing List We are using a ControlMaster with a short ControlPersist to access the bastion host which then gives access to customer hosts. Our Information Security Manager would like to disallow the ControlMaster. His attack scenario is an admin workstation with a compromised root account. An attacker can then use the ControlMaster to trivially get shell access on the bastion host

Audit Trail/Logging For Network Logons and Logoffs
Hi Folks, I have searched the archives and the web for this issue, but I haven't found an answer. I need to be able to log or audit the network access of our network users. This information needs to be used in conjuction with a time and attendance punch clock. I have seen much discussion of using preexec and postexec for obtaining a network access log. However, my testing has shown this as

Slow connects due to out-of-context DNS lookup
Ok, so my situation : Connecting to internal machines via a bastion server in AWS. Because I'm raising and tearing down the infrastructure a lot at this stage with Terraform, the IP addresses change. For the management subnet, I have a private DNS zone defined, and a public zone with a record for the bastion server. What I wanted ; to just be able to define a config entry thus : ---

stdio to port forward?
All-- I'm attempting to implement something I've wanted for a while...a stdio link to a TCP port forward, at least for SSH2, but preferably for either protocol. There's certainly no technical reason this can't be done, but the vagaries of terminal / file descriptor handling are posing something of a challenge. Does anyone have any suggestions for "correct"

I need to log user logon and logoff
I need to log to a separated file just user/computer logon and logoff. I would like not to use log level > 2 to do this. I have tried using vfs_full_audit but it works well into shares definitions. I don't care if the user access a shared directory, I just need to record user login and logoff. Thanks

Efficient way to login/logoff users
Hi there, I have a network running win9x/2000 machines, connected to a samba server with ldap autentication. I wanna know if there's way to receive information about login(principally logoff) in a fast way.. The WIN machines take a long time to send the logoff message (about 2-3min). I was thinking in running a program every time the users login and logoff, this program could send a

Cisco 79xx logon/logoff
Hi All, I'd like to know if anyone has figured out a way to be able to have users logon/logoff manually from Cisco 79xx phones (with SIP firmware loaded)? Scenario is, user walks into office, sits at a random desk, and logs onto the phone. The system would need to "log them off" of the last hardphone they were on, and then configure the new phone for their extension. We're

agent logoff
I am using AgentCallbacklogin to logon agents. I am trying to avoid agents being logged in more than once in different extensions (is this a bug?) by passing the callerid to the AgentCallbacklogin funtcion as an option. The problem is that by doing this, agents are not asked for an extension and they cannot logoff (by pressing the #). Any ideas how can agents logoff? -------------- next part

Logoff script?
Is there such a thing as a Samba logoff script? I am currently using [NETLOGON] for logon scripts, but for the adding and removing of printers via WSH, I'd prefer to also remove these printers after I log off. ---- _ _ _ _ ___ _ _ _ |Y#| | | |\/| | \ |\ | | | Ryan Novosielski - Jr. UNIX Systems Admin |$&| |__| | | |__/ | \| _| | novosirj@umdnj.edu - 973/972.0922 (2-0922) \__/

Significance of port 655?
Thanks, very informative! I was able to generate this digraph and I'm pleased with it since it appears that all my servers behind bastion are directly connected, but nodes outside are not and are routed via bastion http://imgur.com/zEojkMw Here is the digraph itself, if the above link is not accessible: digraph { bastion [label = "bastion", color = "green"];
