ext3 0.9.13 for linux 2.4.13-pre6
An ext3 patch for the latest Linus kernel is at
http://www.uow.edu.au/~andrewm/linux/ext3/
The changes are quite small:
- Tided up some code now that quotas in Linus and -ac kernels are
synced up.
- Fix a race which can cause a null-pointer deref in ext3_writepage().
This bug has been there for a long time, but only manifested in
2.3.13-pre for some reason.
I've tested this pretty

Oops on 2.4.13-pre6 (sparc64)
Ah, Mondays.
The following oops happened after approximately eleven days of uptime.
The machine was not under any particular load at the time. Following
a forced reboot, all filesystems replayed the journal successfully.
Relevant log entries leading up to the oops:

ext3 Patch doesn't work with 2.4.13
Hi,
I just wanted to compile my kernel 2.4.13 with the ext3-2.4.13-pre6 patch,
but it doesn't work.
It seems, that the patching failes by replacing some things in a textfile.
Does anyone of you know, if there is a upcoming solution for this?
Kind regards
Jan Albrecht

2.4.13 patch
Passes all my testing. http://www.uow.edu.au/~andrewm/linux/ext3/
It's still at 0.9.13. No changes were made apart from resolving
the fs.h reject, and retesting. People who have already applied
the 2.4.13-pre6 patch to 2.4.13 needn't apply this patch.

pxelinux 5.00-pre6 sub menu not working
Hello
I just tested my pxelinux installation with 5.00-pre6. For the
installation I did first the same steps as I did with 4.05. I
copied the following files out of the archive into my /tftpboot
folder:
syslinux-5.00-pre6/core/pxelinux.0
syslinux-5.00-pre6/com32/menu/menu.c32
syslinux-5.00-pre6/memdisk/memdisk
With only this files, it was not working and I also had to copy
this two

2.4.13 Stability?
Hiya,
Now that 2.4.13 has been release, any word on how stable ext3 is on this?
Hope they haven't broken anything in the vm again....;) I'm currently running
2.4.8 and I'm very happy with it and given the nightware over the past few
releases, just wanted to find out what the state-of-play is at the moment.

Still interested in pre-compiled binaries for 6.03-pre6
Most excellent! The pre-compiled syslinux6.03-pre6 binaries work great!
I'm able to load syslinux.efi and all necessary support libs. I get my
expected syslinux boot menu.
I've used syslinux 5 / vesamenu for yrs (Legacy PXE boots). So
I know my way around from here.
Thanks Gene & Feri.
And thanks Peter, for making me feel better -- it's the TFTP protocol
that's bizarre, I

EXT3-fs error (device ide0(3,9)): ext3_readdir
Hi,
yesterday I upgraded my kernel to 2.4.15-pre6 (after months of using
only ac-kernels) and had my first ext3-error since 0.0.3 .
syslog tells me :

offset=0, inode=404363549, rec_len=4096, name_len=23

RE : SYSLINUX 2.07-pre6 and memdisk decompression problems
Hi,
I tested this version and it works all right ! Thanks a lot for the quick fix.
Do you still want to see the output in order to check everything is OK, or you don't need it ?

Strange memory stats with 2.4.13 and ext3
Hi,
My gateway/firewall/mailserver machine has been running 2.4.13 for a day
or so now. Its basically a stock Linus kernel + ext3-0.9.13 patch (for
-pre6, with the rej fixed).
I'm getting this in /proc/meminfo:

SYSLINUX 2.10-pre6 is now release candidate
I have decided to make SYSLINUX 2.10-pre6 a release candidate. Please
test it out if you can; if it works OK I will release it as 2.10 some
time in the middle of the week.
Thanks!

SYSLINUX 3.36-pre6 (release candidate)
I have, hopefully, found and fixed the issue with non-kernel binaries
that appeared in 3.35. As a result, I have pushed out 3.36-pre6 and am
classifying it as a release candidate. Please try it out, especially if
you have had problems with 3.35.

1.73-pre6 doesn't like kbdmap
Hi,
just tried 1.73-pre6 pxelinux:
- booting linux works
- memdisk with 1.44M Dos image works
- the 'kbdmap'-parameter fails:
[..]
Unknown keyword in config file.
Missing parameter in config file.
boot:
- and it doesn't remap any keys.
I tried 1.66 with the same config file and it works, it accepts
'kbdmap' and also remaps the keys.

ext3 kernel 2.4.13
Hello everyone,
I'm new to the list and I hope I'm not repeating something that was
already asked for.
I had been using the stock kernel that came with Mandrake 8.1 which is
kernel 2.4.8-26mdk (not sure what things are applied to a stock 2.4.8)
I have my root partition /dev/hda1 on ext3 Mandrake took care of all
this, by putting the ext3 module in initrd.
I just dl'ed 2.4.13

SYSLINUX 1.73-pre6 released
It seems that at least SYSLINUX 1.73-pre4 and -pre5 had some very
serious bugs in it, so here is a SYSLINUX 1.73-pre6 to test out; don't
be surprised if there are more in short order... :)
