Why can't I get out of a domain as the PDC?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 For some reason, when I change my configuration from being a PDC to just being a member of a workgroup, my server isn't able to stop being in the domain. There's one other machine that is still in the domain. Is this why I can't change? I've stopped samba and restarted it numerous times, but I can't get out! Any suggestions

Error deleteing files through Samba
Hi! I have a problem with Samba. I have post to the mailing list but have gotten no results. Any help would be appreciated: I have a RedHat Linux box running Samba 2.2.5. I have it setup to be a file server and it is shared on my Win2K client as the "S:" drive. I have thousands of files in a single directory on the Linux box and when I try to delete those files from the Windows share,

Is this use of DISA secure?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 OK, so I have a local extension that a phone can call to take it to voicemail. I don't want it to exit out to a fast busy tone, as I would rather it allow the user to simply continue on and call a new number (without having to physically release the line first). The [intern] context is where everything goes by default (sip.conf for example has

MOH - White noise, static
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I am using a TDM40B, and have managed to compile mpg123 and turned on MOH. Problem I am having is that it is choppy, staticy, and sounds like white noise pretty much. I have search the archives to see if this problem had been resolved, but I haven't found anything yet. Has anyone had this problem and resolved it? I am calling from

Custom Printer Forms in Samba 2.2.5
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, List! I would like to know the status or how to use custom printer forms within Samba. We have several trays for an HP LaserJet 4050 which are all letter size, but different papers (letterhead, plain, etc). The easiest way for my users to not print to the wrong type of paper is if we set a custom form to a tray (such as a form named

Anyone Know Shoutcast?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Scott, I run a shoutcast server that uses relays. Shoutcast doesn't do anything with mount points, to my knowledge. You connect using ip:port format only. Feel free to email me off list with any questions you've got. You might also try the shoutcast discussion list, which is where its really supported. The sign up is on the shoutcast page.

How much to charge for Asterisk installations?
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a medium sized business that is interested in implementing * as their PBX system. They currently have a Panasonic system with Panasonic handsets that they are going to replace Asterisk with, as the current system is maxed out, and they don't even have voicemail capabilities. job fails to print via samba 2.2.6-pre1 - lpd ASCII a nd postscript test works fine...
Ah, it appears that I have confused myself... I indeed have ALL of the queues defined as JetDirect with the model specific driver selected in printconf. With this combination I am telling linux to modify the job [via the filter] and then pass it as a RAW [jetdirect] where I SHOULD just have the queue define as JetDirect with a RAW as the driver and let the job go as transmitted by the client

Smbd hangs entire machine forcing reset
Hi all! I have recently installed samba-3.0.2a-1 on my RedHat 9.0, Kernel 2.4.20-8 box. The box has a 300GB RAID5 array, 4GB of memory, and dual 2.4Ghz P4 processors with hyper threading enabled. When I copy a massive amount of files (~50GB) to the Samba server from a Windows 2K client, somewhere during that process (seemingly around 2 hours into the copy each time), my Linux box COMPLETELY

Samba 3 and LDAP
Hey all, I hope you all had a pleasent holiday season (okay so I'm a week or so late... I've been in hibernation <g>). Now, does anyone out there know where I can get documentation on running Samba 3 as a PDC using LDAP as a backend - I know I'll get plenty of URLs, so to narrow things down a little, I'm competant with Samba 2.2.x and have no clue about LDAP, yet we're

Policy Editor and Groups?
Hey, Quick question. We run Samba 2.2.8, is there a version of Samba (2.2.x/3.x) that allows me to do the following : Go into Poledit, add a group that corresponds to a UNIX group (e.g. Staff) and set policies on it, having those policies apply to ANYONE in UNIX group 'staff' ? The samba server we have is the only PDC and have several NT4 servers as members only. Any thoughts? I
