User list problem on Win9x.
I'm a bit confused about user enumeration on Win9x boxes. I've got a couple of machines running SaMBa. One (M2Dual) is running 2.0.7 with security = domain and domain server = M2Hub. The other (M2Hub) is running 2.2.3a with security = user. I also have three Win9x machines. All have user level security turned on. Roving profiles work on all machines and all users. Logon scripts run

kinit fails
I'm trying to configure a Solaris 8 system to authenticate Samba against Windows 2003 ADS. I've compiled the appropriate packages; however, I'm quickly stuck trying to get my kerberos ticket. Here's the error: sumac:/opt/local/kerberos5/bin# ./kinit admin@DCRI.DUKE.NET kinit(v5): Cannot resolve network address for KDC in requested realm while getting initial credentials

Linux 2.2.0 and Samba client not happening for me
Dudes and/or Dudettes: HEEELLLPPP! (such a newbie statement) I can't get my remote SMB mounts to work on my Linux box. duke was happily running Slackware Linux 2.0.36 and Samba 1.9.18p8 . I upgraded to Linux 2.2.0pre9 (2.2.0final), which seemed to require upgrading to Samba 2.0.0 . (I don't remember the exact errors) Now i can't get my NT and '95 disks to stay mounted on

Request SMBPASWD feature
One of the sticking points when using SaMBa is that two sets of passwords need to be maintained, one for SMB and the other for the host OS, usually a UNIX variant. A partial solution exists on some systems in the form of SMB-PAM modules. They let the UNIX like system validate passwords against the SMB password database. The problem is that, allegedly, you have to be on a WinXX box to change your

[PATCH] Log ~/.ssh/authorized_keys comments when using LogLevel=VERBOSE
Hi, Attached is a patch to log key comments upon successful login. It just adds them to the already existing verbose() call. I find it useful e.g. on shared accounts where it's sometimes not enough to have the key fingerprint in the log file. Can this be applied? -- Fernando Vezzosi qw(MDAx MTAw MDEw MDEx MDAw _5 MTEw _6 _1 _5 _5 _4 _2 _2 _6 MTEx _1 _5 _5 _4 _5 _2 _6

Access lists
I searched tha archives on this and found only an ancient (1998) message... The books I've read say it can't be done (yet). I'd like to set up some shares on Win95 and Win98 boxes with domain level security. To do that normally, an 'Access list' is needed, and that doesn't work (yet). Q1) Has this changed, and if not, how soon is this likely to change? Q2) What do I

Range of circular data
I want to get the minimum arc (in degrees) needed to include a set of compass directions. I would like to use the range.circular() function of the package circular, because that package understands a compass-type of angle convention, but it gives results I don't understand. Howver, I can get the correct answer in the example below, 90 degrees, using the CircStats package. How can I make the

Using aggregate() and apply() on circular data
I would like to use aggregate.ts() and apply() on circular data, but I can't figure out how to get the circular data components to pass through: library(circular) x <- circular(c(20, 30, 355, 5, 345, 25), units = "degrees") % I want to get the mean angle for each successive pair; answer should be c(25, 0, 5): aggregate.ts(x, ndeltat=2, FUN="mean.circular") Error in

function arrows.circular not working
I have started using the circular package but it is not recognizing the function arrows.circular. I attempted to use the example provided in the circular manual. Here is the example code using the circular package: plot(rvonmises(10, circular(0), kappa=1)) arrows.circular(rvonmises(10, circular(0), kappa=1)) arrows.circular(rvonmises(10, circular(0), kappa=1), y=runif(10), col=2)

kernapply.ts
I have a suggestion for kernapply for ts objects. When we choose the option circular=F, the returned series don't have the correct dates. The removed dates are all at the beginning instead of half at the beginning and half at the end. It is particularly useful when we need to smooth the series (or remove a trend using a filter) before estimating a model (like in macroeconomics) or simply

Need help with function that includes 2 summation
I am relatively new to R, so this may be a much simpler question than it seems to me. I am trying to create a function that includes two summations, and can't figure out how. I am attaching the equation as a pdf file. This function will then be optimized over a chosen range of values, but right now I just need help with the function. Thank you. how do I "relate" tables in R?
Hi all, I'm new to the list...pretty new at learning to code in R... Is there a way to relate 2 different arrays in R? Hypothetical example: data1 ID z 1 100 2 250 3 75 4 12 5 89 data2 ID z 1 1 1 1 2 3 4 3 4 5 5 5 etc. Goal is to fill column z in data2 with appropriate z-values from data1 that correspond to a given ID. removing (hopefully) unneeded access to $HOME
Hi, Thanks for dovecot. It's the best IMAP server ever. Okay, here's my problem: I use mbox INBOXes from /var/spool/mail/%u, and the INDEX lies in /var/spool/mail/dovecot/%d/%u. Users' other folders are found in /%h/mail. Now, I notice that when a user is accessing her INBOX, the imap process cwd's to the user's home, which I'd like to prevent as much as possible.
