FW: smbmount question
Nevermind...need to read the whole msg... I didn't notice you were installing WINS on the NT box...hence the reboot. Standard practice for Winxx: 1. Install, reboot 2. Update, reboot, repeat.... I support about 25 pc's-it annoys the hell out of me how MS manages updates. How many Internet Explorer security updates have there been so far this year-22? Each one of them requires a

connect to it - wait about 2 minutes and then get 'network is busy' message. I suspect that my problems may lie somewhere in the multiple domains / subnetting areas, but I can't see where. And route print? Do you have any servers on the WAN? (or is everyone connecting to the servers THROUGH the WAN?) Can you see the samba machines at all in network neghborhood? What happens when you type in the UNC of a samba server manually? (i.e. \\SAMBASERVERNAME) I hope I can help you, and I'm trying, but I'm not a samba guru. -Dan PS. Samba in a WAN Environment
Brevard County is about 70 miles long and 20 miles wide. We have many small sites around the County that will eventually have their current servers replaced with Linux/Samba servers. We've been successfully running a test Samba server since January and I'm convinced of it's stability and usefulness ... good work Samba Team and Linux in general. Other than for the test Samba server,

Using MSDFS
I've set up a dfs share according to instructions. There is one part of the instructions that I don't understand. I've checked the forum archives but can't find any examples which might help. In the Instructions section (4.1 of the HTML Samba Project Documentation), is shows how to set up the symbolic links in a DFS share, as shown below. I have 2 Samba servers (SMB1 and SMB2).

Is there another way of doing the bindings so that the Windows share doesn't run on TCP/IP but will still work with SAMBA? If so, where in the docs should I be looking, and if not - maybe this should be something discussed by the SAMBA dev people.. Regards, Marc. \\Pettit Connect As: Password: On the server side, I didn't get far because the domain name come up NULL so it failed on that test. Below are two logs log98.txt and log2000.txt that show full debug info. I might just have a stupid configuration or installation mistakes. I am sure that my basic configuration must work since it is a very typical setup. Any help will be highly appreciated

have a hosts allow or hosts deny line in your smb.conf. If you don't want samba to do reverse lookups, then comment out any allow/deny hosts lines in your smb.conf file. I will get a smbd process started. (If this is incorrect please let me know ;) But this morning I did a quick ps -ax on my machine and found *two* smbd -D in the process list. But as far as I know there is no connection to the samba server right now. I did connect to and disconnect from the server yesterday but I would think that that connection would have been released by now. Can anyone

smbmount question
Hi, I'm running Linux 2.2.2 w/ Samba 2.0.2, using the smbmount that comes with Samba 2.0.2. I noticed that when I mount shares, smbmount sticks around, almost like a daemon: [root@jason /root]# smbmount //XXXX.gatech.edu/XXXX$ "XXXXXX" -U jkau -c "mount /mnt/cnd" < /dev/null > /tmp/smbmount.out [root@jason /root]# ps ax | grep smbmount 10678 ? Xen 4.0 with Remus on Suse 10.1??
Hello, I am trying to set up a Xen/Remus test configuration on AMD64 hardware (HP DL380 G6) under SuSE 10.1 and am having trouble. I was able to run and configure the Xen 3 that came with SuSE fine, but as far as I can see, I have to use Xen 4 to get Remus. I managed to build Xen 4 from source and it seemed to install, but I am not sure how to get the proper kernel and/or initrd files in place

SSOAP failing
Dear list, I am trying to use the SSOAP package to access a very simple SOAP service, included as a demonstrator in the axis2 Apache package: "Version" (takes no input parameters and should return a string with the version number). The web service itself seems to be working as I could access it using an other client (eclipse Web Server tester). You will find the service wsdl here:

SSOAP access to a j2EE-ws service
I am currently trying to access a SOAP web service (hosted on a JBoss5 server and defined as a J2EE-ws service) via the SSOAP R-package. But all I can get is a NULL answer. The web service seems to work as it can be accessed using a general web-service tester. The web service wsdl is here: http://smg8.ulb.ac.be:8080/web2?wsdl. This is how I try to call the web service from R: --- >
