Hello, I am trying to set up a Xen/Remus test configuration on AMD64 hardware (HP DL380 G6) under SuSE 10.1 and am having trouble. I was able to run and configure the Xen 3 that came with SuSE fine, but as far as I can see, I have to use Xen 4 to get Remus. I managed to build Xen 4 from source and it seemed to install, but I am not sure how to get the proper kernel and/or initrd files in place in GRUB to get it to work. Alternatively, is there a way to install Remus into my older Xen 3 which was working? I have not been able to find a Remus source anywhere. Thank you for any help or pointers to the right places to look. Regards, -k Kenn Lippert Computation & Simulation Modeling, Product Manufacturing Division Alcoa Technical Center. Re: [Xen-devel] Xen 4.0 with Remus on Suse 10.1??
Hello Kenneth, Would perhaps be handy if you could post your grub config, and the steps you took to build and install Xen 4. A pointer when using grub2 could be http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenCommonProblems -- Sander Wednesday, May 12, 2010, 5:49:34 PM, you wrote:> Hello,> I am trying to set up a Xen/Remus test configuration on AMD64 hardware > (HP DL380 G6) under SuSE 10.1 and am having trouble.> I was able to run and configure the Xen 3 that came with SuSE fine, but > as far as I can see, I have to use Xen 4 to get Remus.> I managed to build Xen 4 from source and it seemed to install, but I am > not sure how to get the proper kernel and/or initrd files in place in > GRUB to get it to work.> Alternatively, is there a way to install Remus into my older Xen 3 which > was working?
