Hi,
Iwrote 'pdfc' in analogy to 'lpr':

trouble with maps
Has anyone else seen this behavior from the "maps" package?

map('state', fill=TRUE)
results in a lively mix of overlapping polygons inside a
map of the US, but they have no obvious relationship to
state boundaries. (See attached jpeg.)

Mapping (followup) + package installation
Hi,
I'm looking to create a few basic world maps in R (for
Windows). A while back someone asked for the same
thing and was referred to the (*.tar) files at:
ftp://ftp.mcs.vuw.ac.nz/pub/statistics/map/
which I downloaded.
However, I am unable to install them, and clearly I'm
not doing something properly (I'm your basic moron
when it comes to installation, so please understand).

Installation globbers ssh_prng_cmds
Gidday,
I've just tried installing openssh-2.2.0p1 and found that it globbers my
ssh_prng_cmds file which has been customised from the normally installed
one. On BSDi 4.0.1 it doesn't detect enough commands for ssh-keygen to be
happy. Most of the commands do actually exist, but I have to specify where
they are.
Could someone please modify the installation scripts to either

That's a start, but the reality is that it isn't enough. There will

Hi,
In the FAQ for Mac http://cran.r-project.org/bin/macosx/RMacOSX-FAQ.html
there is
7.2 Saving the image
You can can (???) the content of the quartz device window into a PDF file.
This is not explained!
This is a very simple way to export high quality graphics from R into
other applications on Mac OS X graphics is PDF based (so are almost all

New package: g.data
A new package "g.data" is available on CRAN, to create and maintain databases

Here's the official Description for g.data (v1.2):
