trouble adding share with restrictions
I am printing from linux to a printer attached to a win98 computer. I
send a text file directly to the printer such as 'lpr -P BJC
<file.txt>', the printer prints all the text as it should then fails to
eject the last page and then goes off line. When I push the online button,
it ejects the page and then is ready again. I am using a Cannon

Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific, I am printing from linux
to a printer attached to a win98 computer. When I say text I mean when I

<file.txt>'. When I say 'hang' what I mean is that the printer prints all
the text as it should then fails to eject the last page and then goes off

Printing to samba server doesn't work
Well, not like it should. I can capture a printer with the "net use
lpt1:" command, but I would really like to be able to print to any one
of the three printers in my printcap.
NT gives me the error: "The parameter is incorrect". I attached the
error message screen below, in .png format.
This worked for the last printer I had. All I changed was the printer

Printing to a Win95 with attached Local Printer
Hello,
I have a question about samba and printing.
I am running Linux RedHat 7.3 and installed the Samba from the install
CD. (Samba 2.2.3a)
I have a "Using Samba" Book from O'Reilly, it talks about Samba 2.0.5a,
but I was hoping that somethings would be the same.
On the RH Box I have a printer (actually it is on the network) but it is
in the printcap file. It is a IBM Network

Some questions to GLMM
Hello all R-user
I am relative new to the R-environment and also to GLMM, so please don't be
irritated if some questions don't make sense.
I am using R 2.0.0 on Windows 2000.
I investigated the occurrence of insects (count) in different parts of
different plants (plantid) and recorded as well some characteristics of the
plant parts (e.g. thickness). It is an unbalanced design with 21

Setting variable main in plot-function
Hi,
I am plotting the residuals of z like this
plot(resid(z))
and I want the title of the graph to be
main="Residuals from regression [name of regression]"
where in this case "z" is the name of the regression. Is there a way to
automaticall put the name of the regression in the title, e.g if the
regressions name changes to "y", the title changes accordingly?

Print Issue with HP 1120C
A week or so ago I posted an issue about printing from my Linux/Samba
2.0.5a box to a Win98 print queue that ends up at an HP Deskjet 1120C. I
have since managed to enable printing, however only in PostScript mode
(I am using the RedHat printtool util to test). PostScript looks pretty
darn good, however sending an ascii job to the queue results in the
printed line "If this is all you see, try

using residuals of binomial GLM
Hi all,
This is more a question in statistics, but I hope to get also the R
practice for my question:
I have an ancova model where the response variable is flowering (plant
has a flower = 1, no flower = 0). The explanatory variables are leaf
length, leaf thick (both continuous variables), and soil type (factorial
with three levels):
