Hello, We're experiencing a problem with samba after an upgrade, which only occurs when using a strange combination of software. The problem only occurs with samba 2.2 and higher. This problem does not occur with samba 2.0. We tested this with samba 3.0alpha17, 2.2.2, 2.2.4, and 2.0.10 First off, sticking to procedure, TESTs 1-11 as described in DIAGNOSIS.txt succeed. Windows 2K Offline files
Is anyone else experiencing problems with offline files and folders on Win 2K (SP4)? They are set up OK but when the Win2K machine goes off line and files are modified it won't sync back when back on the network. Error message from the file sync on windows is 'Access denied' (on the server) But I can easily do the overwrite manually so permissions are OK. Below is the log (level 10)

3.0.23c (FC6) and XP Pro - Error: STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND
On Monday (xmas day) samba was working fine. On Tuesday it wasn't. I didn't change anything on either the Fedora Core 6 machine (relay) nor the XP Pro machine (oob2). I followed all the steps in "Procedure 38.1. Diagnosing Your Samba Server", and until I got to step 8 everything worked fine. From the broken xp pro machine: oob2$ net view '\\relay' The Server

samba NT ACL support problem?
Recently, a problem developed in storing IE5's Temporary Internet Files on our samba exported network scratch space. In tracking it down, I found that the Win2k client attempts to set the ACL of the file "Content.IE5/index.dat". However, the this call ends up setting the mode of index.dat to 0407 (-r-----rwx), thus making the file unmodifiable to the user who created it. (This in

Everyone group difference between ACL/no ACLs.
Hello! I'm running Samba 2.2.8a on top of a ext3 filesystem with ACLs enabled. (kernel 2.4.20-gentoo-r2) With ACLs disabled (i.e., mount /dev/hdd1 /mnt/floppy (no -o ACL)), the Security box under windows 2000 works like I want it to with respect to the Everyone group; If I want the Linux permissions to be, say, 770 (rwxrwx---), I can select everyone and hit "Remove." What happened to the mirrors?
Hi all, what happened to the mirrors? Many of them are outdated and older than 2days. They are missing the latest updates from yesterday and the day before yesterday. According to http://mirror-status.centos.org a whopping number of 227 mirrors are currently out of date. This is the major part of all European mirrors. :( Can someone please have a closer look at this? Thanks a lot and regards

produce a map in ARCGIS from a GAM output
Hi, I am trying to predict the habitat suitability of lobster with GAMs. I need to produce a map in ArcGis of the predicted densities. I did some search and the function predict.gam seems to do the job. Is this the right way to do it? when you apply the function you get the predicted values (different from your input data points) but I do not understand what is the procedure with the spatial

removing data randomly based on previous observations
Hello, I have a dataset which contains multiple trap pulls over the course of a fishing season. Each trap was baited and then returned to the water to be pulled again. I am trying to remove that bait from the catch observed on the next pull (the bait is the same as the catch, lobster). The traps have been baited differently throughout the season. I would like to randomly remove two lobsters

BUG? Draggable''s handle implementation does not match the documents
Hi, First thanks for your great scripts! According to the documents:http://script.aculo.us/drag-and-drop The Draggable''s option ''handle'' value is a string referencing a CSS class. The first child/grandchild/etc. element found within the element that has this CSS class will be used as the handle. However, in the source code file dragdrop.js line 250, is, this.handle=

find data (date) gaps in time series
Dear R users, I have a time series of precipitation data. The time series comprises ~ 20 years and it is supposed to be constant (one value per day), but due to some failure of the measuring device some days or periods are missing. I would like to find these missing days or periods just to get a first idea about the reliability of the measurements. The only function I could find was

Dreamweaver access errors with Samba 3.0.23d
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Dear list Our environment uses Samba to store user directories. I recently upgraded Samba from 3.0.14a to 3.0.23d. After this, we discovered that Dreamweaver MX had trouble writing to an existing file; a file could be created and saved, but saving again after changes produced a "Permission denied" error. There was a similar problem

Viewing ACL permissions via windows kills smbd (help)
Hello all, I have a Fedora 2 server running as a file server. Security = DOMAIN and using winbindd successfully (so I think). Also the shared partitions are formated using XFS so acls should be good to go. However, whenever I use a windows machine and try to view the ACL permissions on a file/folder, the windows dialog box say "Unable to display security information". Then I
