Linux migration document.
Hi all,
If you're looking at a Windows server to Linux & Samba migration
(and let's face it, who isn't nowadays :-), the EU (god bless their little
cotton socks :-) has published a wonderful migration how-to document here :
http://europa.eu.int/ISPO/ida/jsps/index.jsp?fuseAction=showDocument&parent=news&documentID=1647
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Several people on this mailing list have the W32/Swen@MM virus
Ever since I signed up for this mailing list and sent my first question, I have been bombarded with the W32/Swen@MM and the emails aren't all from the same person. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Problem with "add user script"
Problem - smbpasswd does not seem to be recognizing my "add user script"
option to automatically create Unix users when adding a samba user.
I am running Samba version 2.2.8a (from source) on a Linux (Redhat 8.0)
system.
Relevant lines from smb.conf:
[global]
server string=Samba Server
netbios name = smbpdc
security = user
domain logons=yes
domain master = yes

Which Linux best suits Samba3?
In a discussion with one of the main answer people, of whose time I am
greatly appreciative, it was suggested that some of my problem (or
solution) may be to run Samba on a distro that's better suited for it.
Problem is, I don't have the time nor the inclination to download a
bunch of distros just to install, test, fdisk, repeat.
So I ask. what is a recommended recent distro that works

Hi, I am trying to set up my internet connection sharing linux box as a
stand-alone samba server. When i try to access the server from a
Windows XP Pro client using \\192.168.0.1 i get a dialog box asking for
a username and password. I duly enter this and the dialog box
immediately re-appears without connecting me to the share. There exists

[LLVMdev] Anyone is building a DSP-C frontend?
Hi,
DSP-C is an extension to ISO C to support specific hardware features
in DSP, e.g. fixed-point typer, memory spaces and circular pointers.
It's generic for different DSP's.

How difficult is it to extending the llvm-gcc for this extension?
Any document like "hitchhiker's guide to extend the GCC fronted" ?

aggregate and names of factors
Hello,
I use the function 'aggregate' a lot.
One small annoyance is that it is necessary to name the factors in the
'by' list to get the names in the resulting data.frame (else, they
appear as Group.1, Group.2...etc). For example, I am forced to
write:
aggregate(y,list(f1=f1,f2=f2),mean)
instead of aggregate(y,list(f1,f2),mean)
(for two factors with short names, it is not such

[LLVMdev] [lld] How do I prevent .note sections from being eliminated?
Hi,
I'm working on an AMDGPU target for lld, and I'm trying to link a single
.o file with a .note section, but the .note section is missing from the
resulting a.out file. How can I control which sections get copied over
to the executable? Is there a target hook to implement?
Thanks,
Tom

reversing the order of a y-axis in stripchart()
Hi,
I am trying to plot a graph using stripchart() - my x-axis is categorical
and my y-axis is numerical. I would like to reverse the order of my y-axis
(i.e. with 0 at the top left and increasing numbers moving downward towards
the bottom left corner). My data are subsetted into 3 categories that I've
plotted on 1 graph using stripchart(add=TRUE) option.
Thanks for any assistance,
Regards,

Messy Data - Analysis of Covariance", but I can not replicate
it in R. The example is chocolate chip experiment. Response
variable vas time to dissolve chocolate chip in seconds (time),
covariate was time to dissolve butterscotch chip

Overloaded samba server. Is it a bug?
Experts,
We've just migrated from samba 2.2.8a to samba 3.0.20b in a very large
corporate environment. Everything was really fine in our lab, but we
began
experiment serious load problems on the productive servers the morning
after
the procedure took place. I'll try (briefly) to describe the
characteristics
of the scenario:
