Reinstallation of a samba server
Hello together, i'm running samba 2 on a red hat system. This system is not very stable, so we want to reinstall it completely. We are using samba as a domain controller for the windows client. My question. What happens to the local user profile folders on every client if i setup a new samba server (naming the Domain and users as in the old system)? Of course we want to keep all data in

Problems joining W2K Client to Samba 2.2.8 on RH9
Hi, i have some problems using my RedHat 9 Samba Server. I created Shares for my W2K Windows Clients. All Clients can access the Shares, so no problem there. Now i tried to join my W2K machines to the domain and get an error: "Canot join domain, the credentials supplied conflict with an existing set". I read in some newsgroups that "net use * /d" helps but it doesn't

fitting a hyperbola to data points
Hi, I am new to R, and I suspect I am missing something simple. I have a data set that performance data that correlates request rate to response times http://pastebin.com/Xhg0RaUp There is some jitter in the data, but mostly it looks like a hockey puck curve. It does not get converted into a straight line when I tried log conversions, so it does not seem to be a

Multichannel files
Hi, As I´ve understood things, the Ogg Vorbis format supports more that two channels (stereo). Is there any tools to encode x sourcefiles into one .ogg file? I am a musican and am thrilled with the ide of makeing music in surround (or in more than stereo). This leads to my next question: is there (developing) any decoders for multichannel oggs to, let us say, 4.1 or 5.1 surround? Wouldn´t it

Best RH/FC version for dvd rip?
Greetings: I'd like to bring up a CentOS-3.3 system to use for multi-media purposes. One of the packages I'm installing is dvdrip and all it's dependant packages (libdv, libdvdcss, libdvdread, avifile, & transcode). I'm hunting down the packages on freshrpms.net and I notice that there are packages available for FC1, FC2 & FC3. Question: Which FC version should I use

tunnel iax via gnophone with ssh?
Hey all...I'm trying to use gnophone to connect to my asterisk box behind my firewall..I thought I could just setup a tunnel with something like ssh host.com -L5036:asteriskserver:5036 and just change my gnophone to connect to localhost:5036 but I never see anything happen on the asterisk server. I'm even trying this on the same network just in case there is something funky with NAT.

Link was 404 :-( the correct link is http://21croissants.blogspot.com/2007/06/rspec-changes-log-rss.html I should definitely switch from blogger to mephisto ... Hi, As I am not a big fan of mailing list, I have created a Yahoo!Pipes to generate a RSS from the user & developpers mailing list and integrated it into a netvibes tab. sharing a partial across multiple controller views.

In other words, if I have 2 controllers, the corresponding directory structure for the views of those conrollers would like so: views/controller1/<views> views/controller2/<views> I would like to share the partial between controller1 and controller2. Could I make a share directory under

Sharing data between several Rails apps
Could anyone point me to some resources that explain how to share data between two Rails apps? For example, say I have a wiki and a blog, as separate apps, and I want to be able to integrate them so the user seamlessly goes between the two on the same site. How do I pass user information between the two apps? Are rails session variables accessible to both apps? Do I have to pass everything

Sharing primary key between two tables?
Hello, I have an ActiveRecord question. I have two tables, "customers" and "users". Those two tables really should share their primary key, in order to have a "real" 1:1 relationship. (I don''t mean to start a database-resign religious war, but I must say that I do feel very uneasy about using ActiveRecord''s "normal" way, which is to

Sharing function between helper and controller
Hi, I have a utility function repeated in both my helper and my controller. Not DRY. I have this repetition because other functions in the helper and in the controller both use the utility function. Where do I put this function so that both the helper and controller can access the function? Mayber there is a different solution? Thanks, Peter

sharing partials across controllers.
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to share a partial across views in different controllers? If so, how would I go about doing this? Would I pass in a parameter to render(...) of the partial telling it where it is located? And help would be appreciated. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
