Samba 2.2.7a & CUPS 1.1.18, Win2k is not downloading cups windows drivers
I'm building an new server with CUPS 1.1.18 and Samba 2.2.7a (Both compiled
from source) Installed the printer with CUPS and printed a test page with
CUPS. Next step make Samba use CUPS. I've used cupsaddsmb command to do
this, which completed successful.
Running command: smbclient //localhost/print$ -N -U'root%XXXXXXXXX' -c
'mkdir W32X86;put /var/spool/cups/tmp/3e1bf35d1d1f9

Hello
I've got some problems downloading Adobe PostScript printer drivers on a
Windows 98 client :
On the server side (Red Hat 9 / Samba 3.0.2 / Cups 1.1.17) :

rpcclient returns NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE on adddriver
Hi,
samba 2.2.8a freshly compiled
cups 1.1.19final-1 (debian)
while using cupsaddsmb, all runs well until adddriver, when rpcclient
returns a cryptic NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_DEVICE. I've followed the
SambaPrintHowto 3.0 from 7.11.6.1 to 7.11.6.6, and it fails on the
latest as well.
Here is some more information.

cupsaddsmb claims to work but fails
Case strange... I've past probably 30 hours by now on this, crawling the web, and doing
attempts. I managed to make cupsaddsmb run without producing an error, but it fails. Ask
me for anything, full trace, versions and so on, but please, if someone has an idea, share
it.

cli_pipe: return critical error. Error was Call returned zero byte (EOF), hilfe!
Hi Kurt,
I tried to explain my problem to you at Göttingen
but it looks like I'm the only one who gets this
error.
I've just reinstalled my box with SuSE 8.2, kernel
2.4.20-62, samba 2.2.8a, and cups 1.1.18, moved all
config files, databases, scripts and jobs to it and
it looks like samba has become even better and faster.
No one noticed anything wrong except I just can't come

CUPS postscript driver - setting up **ERRATA**
Hi All,
Following instructions from here:
http://samba.mirror.ac.uk/samba/docs/man/CUPS-printing.html#id2942237
and also in the "Official Samba Howto" book, I tried to install the CUPS PS
driver using cupsaddsmb.
It failed due to various reasons, and then I finally got it to work.
When I unpacked the latest tar.gz file (cups-samba-5.0rc3.tar.gz) it doesn't
unpack the files as:

Samba 3b3, cups117 and point-n-click blues. Looks like Samba bug? HELP!
Hi all,
Having a very strange problem here. I'm on RH9,
using samba 3.0b3, cups 1.1.7, and a canon 1000sp
printer. The printer itself doesn't matter. I've
verified this on 2 seperate machines and I get the
same problem. After reading everything there is...
I setup a printer in CUPS. A-ok.
I setup a printer in smb.conf (printing section):

Samba 2.2.8a & Cups 1.1.17 - point'n'print fails
Hello,
I just can't get point'n'print working correctly. Every time I double
click printer, Windows (2k, NT) fails to install the drivers from print$
-share. I'm trying to use a generic postscript driver provided with Cups
(modified MS Postscript driver). Linux distribution in use is Redhat.
I have first set Cups working and printed test page with it - no
problems. Then I

Point'n'Print: adddriver / WERR_ACCESS_DENIED
Dear list,
This problem has been bugging me for days now, I've got Cups version
1.1.21 and Samba 3.0.7 installed and working. There is a single
Laserjet 4100 attached to the network, printing via Cups or Cups/Samba
works fine.
The problems are with getting Point'n'Print to work. I've been scouring
the net, archived posts of this list, read the official Samba manual, to

Difficulty with Samba 2.2.8 and native CUPS PS drivers
I've recently attempted to convert from the Adobe PostScript drivers for my
Canon BJC=2110 printer over to the native CUPS Windows PS drivers and can't
quite get things to work correctly. After deleting the printer on my
WinXP SP1 clients, verifying under "Server Properties" that the Adobe driver
was removed, then reconnecting to my Samba printer, I connect fine but receive

I am having a pretty serious problem with rpcclient ...
