Core dumps on HP-UX
Hello, I've been trying to get openssh working at our site recently, but have been running into these problems. In using the "release" version (openssh-2.3.0p1) we kept getting these broken pipe errors: zcat: stdout: Broken pipe Damien suggested we try out the snapshot versions, so I've been trying out the daily versions since last week. With the snapshots, the pipe problem

Samba 3.0.4 and DOS 6.2.2 - MSDOS Copy problem
Hello, I am having a problem with Samba 3.0.4 and DOS clients. The MSDOS COPY command will not work on mapped directories. When I try to run the COPY command I get an "File not found" error message. This only happens on DOS, all other OS's work fine. I have noticed that someone else on this list has also run into this problem, but no answer/work-around is posted. Here is my

Cannot install Matlab 5.3 R11
Hi everybody: Thanks for reading. I'm a Linux Debian Lenny user. I'm trying to install Matlab 5.3 R11 through wine-1.0.1-174-gc4039bd. The SETUP.EXE runs correctly. The problem is when I enter the PLP (Personal License Password) required. I'm sure that the PLP is correct, but "matlab says not". The message is: "The PLP you have entered is incorrect. Check your PLP

Wine, Wow Cata and D3D
Running Ubuntu 10.04, Nvidia driver version 260.19.29, 3 GB RAM, AMD Phenom Quad-Core, wine-1.3.11. I notice no difference in performance whether OpenGL is enabled or not. Does this mean D3D is now working and I don't need OpenGL now? I get close to 80fps in some places, which is great, but in a raid or other places with a lot of toons and activitiy, Wow practically freezes up and becomes

Problems with printing=plp
Hello, i've some problems with the plp printer spooler on linux: I changed from bsd printing to plp printing. Previously (with bsd style printing) i was able to browse and delete active printjobs, stop and activate printers from within the win9x/winnt boxes. After changing to plp this is no longer possible. The printjobs themself are still printed. Some output in the log.smb (with debug

Samba won't allow PC connections
Hello list, I am at the hair pulling stage of this game right now. Having read through many of the posts, I still seem to be unable to get my samba server to allow anonymous connections ( or any connections for that matter ) from windows machines. All I want to do is have printers and one folder shared, all as guest accessable. I have made the security level = share and made the shares

No network management of print jobs possible
Hello! I?ve running samba 2.05a on suse linux 6.3 as a server with Win95 and Win98 clients and everything works fine. The only problem is, that users can?t manage (kill, resume,...) their print jobs once the print jobs are sent to the samba printer. When I read docs and books, it sounds that it?s possible to manage print jobs over network. As printing system I have "lpq command = plp",

Viral activitiy coming from an IP in your network.
Hi, my name is Grant Taylor. I am a subscriber to the LARTC mail list lartc@mailman.ds9a.nl. The LARTC mail lists has been plagued with viral email coming from changing IPs in your one of your subnets. Based on the fact that the WhoIs information below says that the subnet in question is a dial up pool this would explain the changing IPs. In less than 6 days the list has received 14 viral
