Corruption of floppy link when upgrading to 3.0.0
Dear all, Here's the case, I've got several (5) win2k machines being served by a Samba PDC (RH9). I did an upgrade of samba: service smb stop cd /path/samba-3.0.0/source make install service smb start Everything seems to work fine EXCEPT...all the floppy links in all the SendTo directories (and Recent, if used) in all the profiles on the Samba PDC were corrupted. This corruption

joining a samba pdc domain
dear all, i will outline the problem im having before posting my smb.conf, just in case someone knows what to trouble-check. i have a samba PDC set-up, no firewalls, the windows machine WILL mount the shares fine, but it wont join the domain. I mean that I have entered the machine name as a trust account into both passwd and smbpasswd, and when I join the domain in win2k, it actually asks me

error messsage was: Named pipe not available
I'm having trouble authenticating users. WinXP will authenticate fine if accessed via hostname... //fileserver/share. Ip does not work.. ie //192.168.1.2/share. Anything below winXP cannot authenticate. Nothing is shown in error logs. wbinfo -t does not work.. returns the following errors. A few hot fixes were applied to domain controlers as well as SP4. No changes were made to samba server.

Outlook + attached files
I am not sure where to begin to look into how to solve this problem. I've setup a samba 3.0.0 Fileserver moved all of my users files over to it, works great thanks developers=). I've encountered a few documented problems such as the Excel saving over another file thing(already been patched I belive). And a few I can't find anything on. One specifically is causing me some grief. We

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF TEXT EMAILS Re: Refreshments after SOMS Seminar Friday 3:30-4:30 in HBB 334
Dear Professor Frank Guess, Why did you call me a Curious George? What is a curious george as in American context? Why did you address this email only to Laura and me. Why did you not answer my early query on what is a curious George? Why do you also send me emails saying I and Gandhi are full of compassion? How come University of Tennessee is funded by Federal Bailout Funds AND has a row

How to change smoothing constant selection procedure for Winters Exponential Smoothing models?
Hello all, I am looking for some help in understanding how to change the way R optimizes the smoothing constant selection process for the HoltWinters function. I'm a SAS veteran but very new to R and still learning my way around. Here is some sample data and the current HoltWinters code I'm using: rawdata <- c(294, 316, 427, 487, 441, 395, 473, 423, 389, 422, 458, 411, 433, 454,

[LLVMdev] LLVM Build Difficulties
I hope this is the right list for such questions.... I've been trying to get LLVM compiled under Linux (Ubuntu 9.04, 64 bit) for the last couple of days. It all ends with the error: llvm[2]: Linking Release executable tblgen (without symbols) /home/cjones/Desktop/Build/llvm/utils/TableGen/Release/ AsmMatcherEmitter.o: In function `(anonymous

[LLVMdev] LLVM Build Difficulties
Óscar, Thanks for the help. I think I'm closer now ... hopefully; although I'm still getting the same error. The "gcc -v" output looks very similar to yours now. Do you see any other obvious configuration issues? I don't know what to try next.... $ ~/Desktop/Build/JamCloud/JamCloudServer$ gcc -v Using built-in specs. Target: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu Configured with:

I'm trying to install Samba 3.0.0, and it seems to compile ok. I'm sure i'm missing something stupid, but I'm getting the following message when compiling 3.0.0 on AIX 5.2. bos.rte.iconv is installed as part of the OS, but I installed libiconv 1.9.1 from gnu into /usr/local and it still happens. checking for iconv in /usr/local... yes checking can we convert from CP850 to UCS2-LE?... no checking can we convert from IBM850 to UCS2-LE?... no

smb_register_charset error in Samba 3.0.0
Hi all. I upgraded one of my servers to Samba 3.0.0 over the weekend, using the source. Since doing so, I have had a huge number of errors logged on that system that are all related to usage of the smbmont command. Running smbmount (or mount.smbfs) gives the following error: mount.smbfs: error in loading shared libraries: /usr/local/samba/lib/charset/CP850.so: undefined symbol:

'make rpm' problem
Hey all, I just tried running a 'make rpm' on a fresh install of Fedora Core 4 and ran into an error near the end of the build process. This is the output of the build when the error occurs: done rm -f /tmp/asterisk/var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3/sample-hold.mp3 mkdir -p /tmp/asterisk/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/1234/INBOX :>

pxelinux/memdisk booting MSDOS floppy image requires local floppy disk
I found that if I do not have a local floppy installed and enabled on my client, I will get the error 'Non-system disk' when I try to boot DOS floppy images. NT or Syslinux floppy images boot fine. If I enable the floppy in the BIOS, then it boots the DOS floppies just fine. Is this normal? Is there a workaround? There are MS-DOS images, so perhaps this is an MS-DOS limitation. --
