PVAClone: new package for population viability analysis
Dear UseRs! We are pleased to announce the release of our new package 'PVAClone'. The 'PVAClone' package implements Population Viability Analysis (PVA) methodology using data cloning. The data cloning algorithm by Lele et al. (2007, 2010) is employed to compute maximum likelihood estimates of the state-space model parameters and the corresponding standard errors, heavily

samba 2.2.7a, security=server, password server = win2k, winxp client
Hello, I'm having some problems with the this setting. I'm trying to have a winxp client logon to a samba-2.2.7a machine which is using a win2k server as password server. It works if I use a linux client (smbclient): smbclient -L pandora -U bush%george Pandora is the samba machine, and it contacts the w2k server and validates bush's password. Respected All, I am writing a program in R and facing some problem with applying "if statment". Program first draw random numbers from bivariate normal distribution then compute variable say Pi and Pij from that sample and then further computation ..... ..... ..... In some samples Pij is appearing with negitive sign and ultimately resulted in an negative variance estimator.

Problem in applying conditional looping
Respected All, I hope you are enjoying good health, I am tring to write a program in R but could not be very sucessful. My program draws random sample form bivariate normal distribution and then compute a variable PIJ. For certian samples some entries of variable PIJ is apearing as negative, which result in negative variance estimator. I want to introduce a loop in my program that verify the each

Win2K v WINE
Hi All, I found an old article on running WINE alongside Windows 2000 yesterday. It advocated using the command line of "wine --winver nt2k [program name]", in the example "wine --winver nt2k mspaint.exe". I tried this out with Paintshop Pro which WINE HQ says does run with WINE, but had even less success than before. At least without using that extra part I got an error

Data packages in R V 1.3.1 in Win2K
There is probably an easy answer to my problem... Over the last couple of years, I've put together a simple package for courses I've taught. The package contains some data sets. In R versions prior to 1.3.1, I have no trouble attaching the data. I can use ">data()" to see the available data sets, and ">data(mydata)" to put the data set into the local

Listing all possible samples of Size two form Large Population
Respected All, I need some efficient program or package to draw all possible samples of size two without replacement. I am using "combinat" package to list all possible samples but it hangs my computer for larger populations say 10,000 (i.e. 49995000 all possible samples). I wish to even work for larger populations then this and replicate this procedure for many times. Kindly can anyone

Using WinBUGS from R: A Multi-Way Array Problem
Please suggest a way out to the following problem. I have a T by n data matrix (say Y) where coulmns are time series of length T. To do some analysis in WinBUGS I need to construct my data as follows. yy<-rep(Y,k) ## this will be a vector Yk<-array(yy,dim=c(T,n,k)) ## data array Here the definition of dim indices is first index: T rows second index: n columns third index: for kth T by n

ADS users authentication problem where win2k and pre-win2k names of user differ
Hello, I am new to the list and this is my first posting to the list. I have an ADS running on Win2k3 in Native Mode. I have a user created in ADS. While creating the user I have specified the "Win2K name of user" as testbug and "Pre-Win2k Name of user" is bugtest. Essentially they are not same and do differ. I have a samba 3.0.25d running on Fedora Core 7 which has joined

sometime slowness win2k win98
Good people, I'm new to samba and more experienced with the unix world than the windows world. I have set up a small system consisting of a samba server running Samba 2.2.3 and FreeBSD 4.4, two win2k systems and a win98 notebook. Networking hardware consists of 3com in the FreeBSD system, whatever 10BaseT stuff is in the motherboards of the windows systems, and 10BaseT twisted pair and hub.

Hi, Samba list readers, I am forwarding these mails from one of the Linuxprinting.org lists to you (with the $SUBJECT changed by me), because surely some of you must have been bitten by this too.... This problem is verified on W2K (but not yet for NT/ME/XP/9x). Cheers, Kurt ################# problem description by Elena Khan #################### -------- Original Message -------- To:

Problems using Roaming Profiles on Win2k
Hi, I have set up a Samba 2.2.7a to work as a PDC for my Win2k boxes. They can join the domain suplied by samba, and all the users can log on to their domain but, the roaming profiles just won't work.
