File deletion problem with samba 2.2.8a and 3.0.0
Hi everybody,
I'm having problems with a samba PDC (both 2.2.8a and 3.0.0). I have 2 shares
(one of them is public - ie. world writable -, the other one is the homes
shares). when I try to delete a file from any of those, the file is deleted
properly by windows explorer, but it then pops up a message box with the
message "cannot find the specified file".
The same kind of error

Relative frequencies in table
Hi,
I'm trying to create a stacked bar plot with the satisfaction scores from a
customer satisfaction survey. I have results for three stores over several
weeks and want to create a weekly graph with a stacked bar for each store.
I can flatten the dataframe into a table with absolute frequencies, but I
can't find how to get relative frequencies. My dataset looks similar to the
example

Ordinal categorical data with GLM
Hello All:
I am looking for you help.
I am trying to replicate the results of an example found in Alan Agresti's
"Categorical Data Analysis" on pages 267-269. The example is one of a 2 x 2
cross-classification table of ordinal counts: job satisfaction and income.
I am able to get Agresti's results for the independence model (G^2 = 12.03
with df = 9) assuming as he does that

Problems with Word 200 and Samba 2.2.6
I'm hoping someone has some insight into a problem I'm currenty having,
which is:
No one is able to edit (in place) documents with Word 2000 on a samba
(2.2.6) disk share. A user can open word and save a document to the
share, but when they go to edit the document Word says "Word cannot
complete the save due to a file permission error". From Microsoft KB
Q211632 it appears

Samba not recognizing secondary groups
Hi all. I'm having a strange issue with a server running Samba 3.0.2a.
The server has a single share, and under that are subfolders that
contain documents. Each subfolder is owned by a different
folder-specific group, and users belong to the groups that own the
folders to which they need access.
But suddenly one user can't access any folders. Windows (the client)
suggests that she

Samba serving sshfs shares: can't delete files
Hello!
I have samba share on my sshfs-mounted folder. All works just fine
except I can't delete files from sshfs unless they are in 0777 chmodded
directory. Even if that files were putted trough smbclient. I can read
files, write files (regardless their directory permissions) but not
delete them.
Here is my share config:

Installing shared Windoze executables on a Samba share (fwd)
Hi,
I've got a Samba server here that runs great! I've got an NT machine on
my laptop and I can interface with the Samba server directly in any way
I want, except for one thing:
When I try to install a program (Visio) as a network shared app, the
installation always tells me "I've determined that the target drive
doesn't support long file names" after I choose to

Great! Any ETA on the 1.0.1 version? I am just on the verge of releasing
a product containing Speex, but might stall for a month or two if
significant updates are imminent. With the start of summer vacation in
Denmark the whole country pretty much grinds to

Sixtel.net / IAX.CC - Vanity Toll-Free Numbe r
Hi,
I've tried to make toll-free DID work for the last 2-3 weeks. Apparently
only the IAX.CC/Sixtel personnel can make a call to my toll-free. Anybody
else just gets a busy signal. It takes for them about 5-6 business days to
respond to my request. It seems they are looking in the once a week to the
High priority tickets.
It also seems that they are permanently closed ! No matter when I

SOLARIS_2.6: request_oplock_break
I saw a little discussion about this a few weeks ago but nothing concrete.
We're running samba-1.9.18p8 under Solaris 2.6x86. I am periodically
getting the following in the logfiles, usually _many_ at a time:

break request to pid 5411 on port 40884 for dev = 1980040, inode = 33c4d

Soy un nuevo usario de R, y estoy usando como base de datos el European

File locking issue
I have a client with an older server that is running into a weird file
locking problem.
The server is running FC2, samba 3.0.7 and kernel 2.6.10.
They have recently installed AutoDesk Revit, which is apparently some
sort of collaborative design software. Revit keeps a central repository
and then allows different clients to access it.
What is happening is that only the person who created the

smbstatus parsing (XML output)
Hey all,
I'm preparing to start development of a new version of 'smbstatus' that
produces XML output, instead of the tabular data it currently produces.
This follows an attempt to parse the output of the current 'smbstatus' (
3.0.22) using grep and a few other shell tools, from a system call in PHP,
and then further RegEx parsing to create a multidimensional array of the

Carlos he creado a esto a nivel general en vez de usar prop.table. Según lo

ddply para hacerlo a nivel de todos los paises, y entiendo que ddply (,

ts in R (again)
I have done a re-working of the time series code in base R and library
ts that will appear in Friday's snapshot. I am sure at least one
person will be dissatisfied, but I am convinced there are fewer
errors than there were before (I found more than 20, as well as several
documented features that did not exist.)
The principles in the code are:
tsp attributes can only go on vectors of length
