I also have two DCs and I am using them also as filers. Built-In users and groups are normally mapped by idmap.ldb I also got issues with mapping of built-in users. I needed the same idmap.ldb on both of my DCs. I also don't see these groups by hitting getent group. I followed another stragedy: Every new group that will have filesystem access has a name starting with GGF (Group Global File).

The only thing I have in my smb.conf that is related is this: idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 = yes I don't have any of that other stuff for mapping ids. Is there a howto on that somewhere? and my nsswitch.conf I have: passwd: files sss shadow: files group: files sss the sss was only because I was trying sss but it was ONLY "files" to start with. Im did not follow the complete thread, but you can check the following. smb.conf ## map id's outside to domain to tdb files. idmap config *:backend = tdb idmap config *:range = 50001-80000 ## map ids from the domain the range may not overlap ! idmap config DOMAIN:backend = ad idmap config DOMAIN:schema_mode = rfc2307 idmap config DOMAIN:range = 10000-40000 winbind

MWI with IAX
Does the MWI feature work with IAX2? I have read where it should but cannot get the indicator to work on any of the IAX softphones that I have tried which have this feature. I even did an IAX debug and did not see where and indication was sent to the phone when it registered. Interface * with ATA from ATA FXS port? (Here I go again)
Well, I thought I had my problem solved, but it is acting up again. Hopefully this time I can provide enough information. What I have is an * box setup with one X100P and TDM400 with one FXO and one FXS. For my regular setup with interfacing with my PSTN and my entire house with analog phones, the box is working great. I am trying to interface a Mediatrix 1202 device to my * box via the

Matt, Thanks for the reply. I'm not trying to add the "users" group. I'm trying to add the "Domain Users" group. That is the reason for the \ in front of the space. It's translated as a literal. I think I could also put quotes around it and not have to use the \ and the space. The problem is getent group only is listing local unix groups. I think that is

Samba Migration and AD integration
Hi Andrew, The realm infact has no dots, is this going be an issue? It is different to workgroup. The details did get "Lost in Redaction" Coming back to the DNS. When we did the domain migration , we used --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ. My assumption was it will stick to the BIND_DLZ. Anyhow, when we use the default settings post migration, we are not able to DCPROMO the Server 2008R2 server.

I''ve read http://shorewall.net/2.0/Shorewall_and_Routing.html and http://shorewall.net/MultiISP.html, however I still a bit confused how to organize what I need :-). I''ve a

Samba Migration and AD integration
Hi, We migrated from Samba 3 to 4 (4.6.7-Ubuntu) and added promoted a Server 2008R2 as a Domain Controller. We've come across the following issues and request some suggestions to resolve them - The migration didn't generate DNS entries for the new realm. We had to manually create a new zone file (/var/cache/bind) for the new realm. Only then we were able to promote the

kernlab:ksvm:eps-svr: bug?
Hi, A. In a nutshell: The training error, obtained as "error (ret)", from the return value of a ksvm () call for a eps-svr model is (likely) being computed wrongly. "nu-svr" and "eps-bsvr" suffer from this as well. I am attaching three files: (1) ksvm.R from the the kernlab package, un-edited, (2) ksvm_eps-svr.txt: (for easier reading) containing only eps-svr
