Bugfix for idealx smbldap-tools
Hi.
When I tried to setup my LDAP I used the smbldap-tools from idealx. I
discovered some errors which made the tools unusable for me.
Here's a fix for the bugs I discovered:
a) I decided to use a suffix in the LDAP which contains spaces, ie. I
used something like "o=My Org,c=DE". Because the suffix wasn't quoted
in the various calls in the tools, this didn't work.

Building tkentry dynamicly
Dear R-users,
I would like to build N "tkentry" compounds in the same window, with
default text for each. As N is variable I need to construct them in an
iterative way :
library(tcltk)
main<-tktoplevel()
tktitle(main)<-"My Tool"
filenames<-c("toto","tata","titi")
N<-length(filenames)
for (i in 1: N) {

Samba 3.0.12 (gid of user [joe] doesn't exist) Weird error when Client logs on.
Hi,
I just recently purchased a new server and took this opportunity to
upgrade to the latest version of samba (3.0.12). Unfortunatly, I have
some weird occurances. I have a user called "joe" who is my admin
user.
In /etc/passwd I have this:
joe:x:500:500:Joe:/home/joe:/bin/bash
In /etc/group I have this:
admin:x:500:joe
id returns correctly:
uid=500(joe) gid=500(admin)

upgraded old smb system to new release with a few errors
I moved an old smb system (version 2) over to a completely new system
with version 3.0.7 running on FC2. I just copied the config files over
and then ran swat and adjusted any problems that I found. Then save the
swat config and started the smb server. Gosh be Good! It worked just fine.
But...

until I reboot. When I log out, the following message gets sent to the

roaming profiles problem for new users
Due to hardware failure we had a rushed migration from a Samba v3.0.9 on
FreeBSD 4, to v3.0.10 on Mandrake Linux 10.1. Since then I have had
problems getting roaming profiles to work for new users. Things works
fine for existing users, but things are broken for new ones. The setup
is a fairly standard Samba PDC with Windows XP clients.
When users added since the upgrade log in, they then do

3.0 beta 3 - NT and Unix group mapping
Hello everyone!
I've been testing the 3.0 beta 3 (I've just upgraded from 2.2.7), and made a
PDC configuration with Windows XP Pro clients. Everything works fine,
however, I'm fine tuning the NT and Unix group mapping; in particular, I
want to map the Unix group 'users' to the NT group 'Power Users'.
I've tried:
net groupmap modify ntgroup="Power Users"

smbpasswd backend, group-per-user, and primary gid not a domain group

get_domain_user_groups: You should fix it, NT doesn't like that
I understand why this is: fred's group needs to be mapped like so
net groupmap modify ntgroup="Domain Users" unixgroup=<fred's
