Samba 3.0 & Windows 2003 server ADS
Hi there I'm having trouble getting winbindd working properly (I think). My understanding is that winbindd uses a kerberos 5 session (with 2003 server) to authenticate the machine to ADS, before any users have logged in. Then it uses that session ticket to authenticate all users of the smb server. Is that correct ? I can run kinit ok, and klist shows me a krb5 ticket (using a Domain

Client accessing Samba doesn't authenticate against Active Directory
When a Windows client attempts to browse shares on a Samba 3.0 server authenticating against a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain, it requests credentials. Typing in user name and password fails. Basically, I can't see even see the shares. If I give username/password for a user in smbpasswd, then I can browse the Samba server. Configuration info: ADS server: LICENSE ADS server IP:

wbinfo -t fails with W2K3 ADS as PDC
Hello all, I am attempting to set up Squid and have the authentication occur onto a Windows 2003 ADS server (enterprise edition- if it matters), hostname W2003. I have followed instructions listed at: http://itmanagers.net/Documents/File/walkthroughs/~Linux@Squid/Squid+and+Samba+3+-+Walkthrough.html and have spent numerous hours(+15) attempting this. However, I can't seem to get past the

SMB Signature verification failed on incoming packet!
I am running Samba 3.0.9/KRB5 1.4 on Centos 3.4 on x86 with security = ADS in a Win2k3 domain. I have successfully used kinit to authenticate, joined the domain, and wbinfo -g/-u/-t return the expected results. However, when I try and access the samba shares from a Win2k3 box, it fails telling me I don't have permissions to access the share. Needless to say I am thoroughly perplexed. I have

How to use perl bindings for dtrace on macosx leopard ?
According to this page, http://www.apple.com/macosx/technology/unix.html In addition, Java, Ruby, Python, and Perl have been extended to support DTrace, providing unprecedented access for monitoring the performance characteristics of those languages. When I do dtrace -l | grep -i perl on MacOSX 10.5.2. I don''t see any perl providers so I am not sure how I could monitor perl scripts via

Configure usage of MS Kerberos
Hi, i would like to use on Centos 5 Microsoft kerberos tickets for authentication for some applications. LDAP FDS for example. For that I have to add some spn to Active Directory. And afterwards to export this to local keytab. --------- kadmin -q "add_principal -randkey ldap/${INSTANCE}.${fully-qualified-domain}" Then, export that key to a keytab file. If you've deployed

3.0.10 works only when logged in locally to XP
I have struggled for a week trying to get domain users to map and/or browse Samba shares without entering a password. If I login to the domain with a WinXP client and try to map or browse a Samba share, I get prompted for user/pass. If I then login with a local machine account (same user/pass) it works. This same configuration also works just fine on W2K clients logged into the domain. I am
