But when I try to access the samba server from another domain, I get an error saying that it is not authorized from that machine. I am attaching the smb.conf. Query on Using initramfs
Hi I am looking at inserting functions in the early user space and want to use initramfs for this. I understand this can be achieved using 'initrd' or by making changes in the 'usr/gen_init_cpio.c' file. Can someone kindly give me pointers as to how to go about this. I am looking at the 2.6.x kernel. Thanks Rachita.

Shaping incoming traffic?
I would like to differentiate incoming traffic streams to guarantee minimum bandwidth to some services. However, as per the Adv-Routing-HOWTO it appears that only outgoing traffic can be shaped. Is this correct or is there a way of shaping incoming traffic? The problem could possibly be overcome if there is a way of routing traffic through a virtual host. Any tips on how to go about that? --

Samba4 DNS Internal - Domain Zone does not exists...
Hi all, We are testing Samba4 as a DC from a existing Win2k3 Domain. Everything is running, but we noticed the following strange things: 1) We cannot manager the Samba DNS "server" by Windows DNS manger tool; 2) The domain zone, i.e. mydomain.com zone, do not exists at Samba4 DNS. All of the others (i.e. _msdsc.mydomain.com, , etc) exists. 3) We cannot ADD an entry in Samba DNS, (using

Smart Boot Manager.
Hi all, OK, I got lucky. There was a Very usable copy of Smart Boot Manger on the copy of Slackware 12 that I recently downloaded. Copied it to a floppy according to the instructions that came on the CD, and I am presently booting off a Debian business card ISO on my old Hitachi laptop. Working GREAT. So, once again, thanks for the tip about SBM. -- Later, Lonnie Mostly Debian, but now

* dials out zap line first 6 digits, pause, then last digit
Hello, This seems to be a weird one. I'm at work now and will get some more-verbose logs later when I get home if nobody has any ideas about what's happening here. I've got a tdm card with 1 FXO and 1 FXS. Asterisk is in the 1.2.x line, so is zaptel. astlinux to be specific. I can get the versions at home later if it might help. It's running on a silent epia 5000 board
