I had the same problem. You need to go into your Makefile and add the [LIBS] definition to the part where winbind.so is linked. Just take it on to the end of the line and run "make" and "make install" again. I have finish setting up samba on a Freebsd machine. Everything is working great except where I try to access the server through the Network Neighborhood on the NT network. It takes up to about 5 minutes before it can access the folders on the server or download or upload files. What could be my problem(s)? Michael Brown

How are you verifying? Have you tried using top and looking for smbd and nmbd? Swat may be giving you erroneous info if that is what you are using to verify.
