AD integration: "getent passwd" can't see *new* users, but "wbinfo -u" can
I have two different systems (on different networks) showing this behavior. Both are running Ubuntu Dapper/606.1 LTS with samba version 3.0.22 and windows 2003 sp1 servers (not R2). AD integration is done via winbind, with nss using winbind. At some point in time (which is unknown to me), the samba server stopped seeing new users, groups, machines which are added to AD. scenario: I add a new

This server is using samba v.2.2.5-1 When I install a network printer in the clients (Win2000 and NTs), normally windows set up automaticly a "Lan Manager Printer Port" asociated with the printer. Well, as we have seen using the

In/out calls from/to same sip provider
Hi. I'm new to asterisk and, one way or the other, I manage to get it working for me. But I'm having a hard time getting calls going to and coming from the same provider, since the definition of the peer in sip.conf seems to be different AND not compatible for incoming and outgoing call. Outgoing calls need a "secret" and "username" definition in the peer context of

Group owner ID not mapped to name.
Hi, I'm using samba as a member of a W2k domain (security=DOMAIN) and winbind to unify logins with users from the W2k. The problem is that when I assign an owner user and group to a file/directory in the samba server the group is not mapped to the name of the group, the user is ok. Instead it appears the group number. [root@hserint2 fruza]# ls -l total 8 drwxrwxr-x 2 HGUV+fruza 10000

is EXT3 data=journal, 2K block size, 2.5 series kernel stable?
A while back, after 2.5.6, there were various changes made to the kernel that resulted in some instability with journaled data on ext3 filesystems, as well as small issues with my 2k block size file systems. Can someone (say, Andrew Morton ;) comment on the stability of the current release with this sort of configuration? If it's not full of known bugs then I will give it another shot, but I

attaching printer w/user level sec; XP okay, 2k won't work
So I've spent a couple of hours on this and I think I've found the problem. I have cups and samba running on the print/file server. I have a 2k and and XP system as clients. All are in the same workgroup. I started with share-level security, and everything worked okay. Then I decided to tighten it down a bit, and moved to user-level security. XP could connect to both the printers and
