I've been having this problem on one of my PDC's where when using usrmgr from a windows box, I get the error: The group name could not be found. Since all of the groups samba is interested in exist and since they are all mapped to the appropriate posix groups I'm not sure where to start with this one. A 'net rpc group list' gives the following: Domain Guests Domain Admins

I'm having problems adding users with usrmgr. I can run the scripts from my smb.conf fine from command line and do what I need to. But, when adding users with usrmgr, the login script and path statements are not identified and I have to go in and edit them manually. Does adding a user with usrmgr not use the add user script from Samba? Or must the user environment variables be added

I have a Samba3 PDC/LDAP/PAM/NSS running in a lab. Everything works great. I am using the smbldap scripts for in smb.conf so i can use usrmgr.exe. Last night I was testing to make sure it was all working ok. I added about 6 accounts throught usrmgr.exe with no problem. The smbldap scripts added the user to LDAP, and then samba 'extended' them to samba accounts. Then I tried to add an
