RES: LDAP howto
Congratulations! If you need help with your howto, please count on me! I
will be more than happy to take whatever you can write down, try it
here, and tweak your howto based on my results. I can also help clean up
the language (sorry, but your english is a little confusing in places :) ).

Is Samba ready for it?
Hi,
I am migrating from WinNT 4 to Samba 3 beta3 in a production
environment.
It would be nice to have some advice, because I don't know if Samba is
ready for assuming this ;-)
I never heard about any one that had something like this.
This is kind of a big network so it will be 1 PDC (Samba) , 4 BDC's
(Samba) and 2 File Servers (w2k). I will have a minimum of 800 machines
and 2000 users

RES: Re: ACLs with Problem
I believe that you it did not understand my explanation. I have a Linux server executing samba intergrated with a server windows 2003 (PDC). Linux is using the users of windows 2003 saw winbind. But, the permissions for these of archive do not function. When I try to change the permissions of an archive in the sharing of the samba, it I do not function. The part of ACL of the samba is not

PCI serial card works on 6.2 but not on 6.3
We have upgraded a box from 6.2 to 6.3-RELEASE. Afterwards the box does not
recognize its ST Lab I-160 serial card with Netmos 9845 Chipset. It worked
flawlessly on 6.2 with puc(4) driver.

2 (Suse), one NT 4 server machine and 5 user databases???
I currently have a setup of 1 NT 4.0 PDC server and to SUSE boxes
sharing via a samba share. I seem to have to make 5 different
usename/password databases. 1 for NT, 2 for each SuSe box (One Linux
and one Samba). Is there a way to have 1 or maybe two databases to
update? I've read about LDAP on other connections but I'm a little
confused as to what is the best approach.

GARCH-like
I need to change the code of Garch to the FCGARCH (a non-linear
multi-regime GARCH).
I don't know nothing about R.
I'd like to know how can I get the code of the garch in order to change it
and make the fit for the FC-GARCH.
Any non-linear code will be helpfull because if doesn't help in the
programming it helps in getting familiar with R.
Thank you

quality output if this is right to entered parameters.

File encoded: http://padawan.ing.puc.cl/chavezq1.wav
The parameters for encoded are:
state = speex_encoder_init(&speex_nb_mode);

Samba AD - Issue with winbindd: Could not write result
Thanks Rowland for response.
OK, setup the "log level = 10".
I noticed something today. I have to restart the samba server 2 times. In the second restart I did a named restart too. Maybe could be something related to communication to named?
I did the named.conf conforming the wiki, adding these 2 lines:

sio vs uart vs ucomm problems / differences
We are in the process of migrating one of our embedded apps to use
uart by default instead of sio in RELENG_7 in prep for the day when
sio eventually disappears. Unfortunately, the application doesnt
want to work with uart with puc backed devices, but still works with
sio. Stranger still, the app works with the uart driver when uart
attaches to the built in com port on the isa bus. However,

I would like to have changes (chown) in the destination.
However, some files did not changed size or rights. All files should have new owner.
Thanks,

[SOLVED] RE: Samba and AD integration
Problem solved.
As long as I know it is related to the fact that I was using the same range of ID's (both GID and UID) in my smb.conf.
Change these values to different ranges and I am now being able to authenticate well.
Best regards,
