Win2k and PDC logon.
Dear Samba Experts. I an quite new to samba but know the basics of creating chares and permissions, I think!!! Been digging into HOWTO for pdc logon using windows boxes. Having great difficulty in getting win2k to complete and logon to a samba 2.2.5 PDC configuration. Win98 is ok and runs the logon scripts as required. I have attached the smb.conf used and can confirm the directory

Network path not found - Windows to Linux connection
I am trying to use Samba to access files on Linux server from a Windows XP client. The server is running RedHat Linux 9 with Samba 3.0.21a installed, and the client is running Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 2. After installing the new Samba package on the server, I edited the configuration file, started the service and added a user with smbpasswd. To test that this was all working, I

( could not post complete reply, message too large?) I think that's why I have a lot of black screens on the clients. Here debian pdc smb.conf: root at fai:~# cat /etc/samba/smb.conf # This is the main Samba configuration file. You should read the # smb.conf(5) manual page in order to understand the options listed # here. Samba has a huge number of configurable options (perhaps too # many!)

A few odd problems after server migration
Hey guys... I've been beating my brains out trying to determine the cause of this problem, read tons of stuff online but have not been able to make any headway. My RH9 server bit the dust and I had to completely rebuild it. Built it as a Fedora Core 2 server running Samba version 3.0.3-5 and re-imported my old smb.conf file, smbpasswd file and such. Re-created my share and gave it 777

samba crashing on startup
hi, i've been trying for like two weeks to figure out why samba doesn't run properly. from the logs it looks like smbd will start followed by nmbd. then nmbd will exit for no apparent reason. i'm able to start samba manually with the command '/etc/init.d/samba start'. right now i'm assuming nmbd is the reason why samba doesn't load. i'm running samba version

Logon to SAMBA
Hi, I have installed the samba-1.9.17p3 on our Solaris 2.5.1 (named 'dor-ent1') and Linux (named 'iserver'). They work when I test out 'smbclient -L dor-ent1' from Linux machine and vice-versa. I also can map the directories on 'dor-ent1' or 'iserver' to my win95 machine using: 'net use * \\dor-ent1\tmp'.

The password is incorrect. Try Again
This is probably an easy one. I have just setup Samba on my Debian 2.0 system with kernel 2.0.34. It was extremely easy set up, great job Samba and Debian people. My problem is that I can see both of my Debian computers in Network Neighborhood but can not log in to both of them. The one I can log in to is Debian 1.3 with 2.0.33 on it. When I double-click on the Debian 2.0 machine it prompts me for
