Samba and LDAP
After perusing the Samba 3.x docs and purchasing Terpstra's and Vernooij's
excellent Samba-3 Howto, I am still unclear on LDAP authentication. Not a
Windows admin so please bear with me.
1) Regarding the Samba schema, is there a tool to extract the Windows client
information (sid, etc.) for populating an LDIF?

Forwarding a call to another FXO port
Greetings,
I'm trying to setup an option in my greetingmenu that would allow the caller to select this particular option for emergency calls. That option would dial out on an available PSTN line to a cell phone number.
Currently it is setup as such
exten => 9,1,Dial(Zap/g1/<CELLPHONENUMBER> where <CELLPHONENUMBER> is the number it is calling out to.
When option 9 is

SSL alert number 42
That is good to know. I was working on the wrong assumption, attempting
to create a client certificate on the Windows/Thunderbird side.
I am using the SSL Certificate that comes with the distribution, so the
conclusion is Thunderbird does not trust it.
I have this in my notes from ages ago, for generating my own self-signed
certificate:
% openssl req -x509 -newkey rsa:4096 -sha256 -keyout

UNICAST cross-subnet browsing, Port 445 vs. 139, and Win2k
I have been having a heck of a time getting cross subnet browsing to work
properly. After MANY hours hunting through source and debug logs, I have
FINALLY found the source of my browsing issues.
My Samba nmdb properly becomes the LMB for my segment on a WAN. I VPN to my
servers at the home office and Samba attempts to sync with the DMB. nmbd
properly locates the DMB via WINS over the

Re: The LPBN radio station.
Sorry for my ignorance but what is the LPBN???? I don't think my main
stream was running after I mailed you earlier today. It is running right
now. Do you have an URL for LPBN???

AD authentication problem
I'm having a problem authenticating to Active Directory. I can join
the machine to the domain, wbinfo -g/-u will list the groups and users
and I can map a drive using: smbclient -k //s-lorentz.s-res.uva.nl/c\$
However when I try to get the linux machine to authenticate a user
it doesn't work giving the error NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS
(0xc000005e). Looking further in the logs it fails

Trouble getting in icecast Directory
Yes, it is a "vague term" but it should match nonetheless. Is the
directory code open source? If so, I don't mind locating the error and
proposing a correction. First step is to have other people confirm that
they get the same results that I do.

Addressing a class, rather than an id?
Good day,
I''m trying to use the slider control to resize a pile of images on a
web page. Clever, huh. Bet cha didn''t think of that one!!! :)
But seriously. It seems I want to address a class, rather than the
individual id''s of the images. At this point, I''m getting some
results with something like this:

SSL alert number 42
This is what I did. I obtained a certificate from this site:
https://www.sslforfree.com
They provided 3 files:
? certificate.crt
? private.key
which make perfect sense as replacement for the 2 files provided by the
distribution. I am guessing that I need somehow to append the 3rd file
(ca_bundle.crt) to the first one? In order to raise its credibility?
TIA

Central list of Rails gems?
Is there a centralized list of Rails gems somewhere? Or even just a
database of some kind of gems that can be useful to Rails apps, not
just specific to Rails?

Re: The LPBN radio station.
hi I wonder if you would like to join my localplayer.com network? I
operate on the same philosophy. All my artists are unsigned and I have
their consent to stream their music. on my station. I envision a drop
down menu that helps me navigate to the city of my choice.

Meta-question about the list
Question about the list in general: by default, it''s set up so that
replies go to the sender, rather than the list. However, on other
lists I usually chat on, replies by default generally go to the list.
This seems to encourage more discussion. Would it be a good idea to
change that default? Or am I just crazy.
Best,
Raymond
