Possibly a bug: Slow get on localhost
Hi there, I guess I found a bug in many versions of samba: When I do: smbclient //localhost/incoming get filename It results like this: getting file \filename of size 838656 as filename (75.0 kb/s) (average 75.2 kb/s) ... or similar LOW speed. Something similar has been described at lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2002-May/044345.html Well, I tested these at 3 different machines Linux 2.4.21

Two "pre-migration" questions
I have read the migration docs. They seem to relate to migrating from one imap product to dovecot on the same server. I'm interested in migrating my Maildir-formatted email from one server to another. 1. Can I tar my ~/mail directory on serverX.com, untar it on a different physical serverY.com (initially with a different domain name), and still see my mail when I access imap.serverY.com

RC1 problem? (Conversation over two IAX2 streams = nasty, gappy audio) (fwd)
Hi, With reference to Andrew Kohlsmith's problem with calls over IAX2 going dead after 1minute 5 seconds: This is caused by a bug in the "optimized bridging" code in chan_iax2.c interacting badly with the IAX2 jitter buffer. This problem only affect calls where: 1) There are 2 or more servers doing optimised bridging between the end-points of the call. ie a call like A-end

Samba4 Internal DNS CNAME entries
I am currently in the progress of testing the replacement of a Windows 2003 DC with a Samba4-based one. In the DNS of old Windows DC we had CNAME entries to alias www.domain.com to serverX.domain.com and ftp.domain.com to serverY.domain.com. This is working and can be tested successfully with dig The CNAME entries were correctly replicated across to the internal DNS server on the new Samba4 DC

sendmail and spamassassin
I have a problem getting spamd and sendmail (both stock CentOS4 rpms) to work together on a couple of smtp relay machines. This is clearly a configuration issue and no doubt revolves around my lack of comprehension of how this is to work. Basically, the setup consists of two frontend public smtp transports that redirect all email through a firewall to an internal imap server for final
