smbmount -> Permission denied after upgrade to FC2
Hello all, hopefully someone has run into this before. I was previously running RH9 with Samba 3.0.2a and would normally mount a document folder to a Win2003 server share. Prior to the upgrade, my mount would work fine, but after upgrading to FC2 (Samba 3.0.5) I now receive "Permission denied" when trying to access the succesfully mounted share. In addition, when I try to 'ls

Samba 3.0.37 with Windows Server 2008
I'm running Windows Server 2008 and trying to connect to Samba 3.0.37 on Opensolaris. The Samba system is a member of a Windows Server 2008-based Active Directory domain - it was able to join the domain just fine - and Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 can connect, but Windows Server 2008 SP2 cannot connect. The log file is posted below - I'm guessing the key is the

MFC for sysctl descriptions
Hello everyone... :) I liked the idea of having descriptions for various sysctl oid's in -CURRENT, so I have created a patch to merge these over to -STABLE. I am unsure as to how much work has already gone into bringing this to -STABLE, but as the descriptions already exist in the source, I am fairly confident that it was planned at some point. All I can really ask is that someone with more

smbclient-2.2.8a cannot connect to samba-3.0.0 server
Hi I have a problem with subject. I have a samba 3.0.1 server to which both windows and linux (using smbclient version 3) users can connect perfectly. Wiki Access Request for Java How To's
Hello, My name is Sean Gilligan (wikiname: SeanGilligan) and I'd like to contribute to the CentOS wiki. Initially I'd like to do some documentation for Java (OpenJDK) on CentOS 5.3. I've used Fedora for years, but am getting tired of the obsolescence that keeps happening. I'm also very excited about having an integrated Java that I can use for actual server deployments. I

Linux & Windows clients domain join - Error: NT_STATUS_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO
Sorry, I'll try this again. It appears the email got stripped out and left the attachment. ------------------------ I'm having an issue where any machine refuses to join the domain. It's a a Debian server(lenny) with an LDAP backend. I assume the issue is something obvious, but this is an "inherited" network and based on the state of the rest of it, the issue could be

smpassswd unable to join domain.
Hello, I have been trying for 3 days now to get smbpasswd to join my existing NT 4.0 domain, without success. The command I run is "smbpasswd -j CCH -r chrivdc01 -U knoxth" (yes, userid knoxth has Administrative access). No luck. I've included the output of adding -D 3 to the options line. Can anyone help me figure out what is happening?? Thanks! Tom ----- Forwarded by Thomas

strange DOS-Error 58
Hi, based on Bart Lagerweij's ( www.nu2.nu ) bootdisk, I've created a small DOS system that users can start by booting from network ( PXE ). The system is configured to map a network drive from a Suse 9.0 Pro / Samba server with various tools on it. The connection is anonymous. Until recently everything worked fine but suddenly there are strange errors: When I try to launch an EXE from

After that going deeper into the filesystem is not an issue...but when you browse back to the base folder you experience the same issue again (25 seconds or 'crash'). If it 'crashes' I get the error "\\servername\serverdir is not accessible. The session
