Hi; We've recently upgraded from Samba 1.7 to Samba 2.2.8 and we're using Samba to allow our users to connect to their Unix home directories from their PC's. Under 1.7 users were able to connect by mapping a drive from windows explorer and entering their unix username and password. Now, when we do this we get a "Incorrect password or Unknown username" error message.

Hi whenever i try to mount a samba share which is a samba server i get an error message that says "smbmnt must be installed suid root for direct mounts(500, 500) smbmnt failed1" On that note i tried to run "smbmount" as root but this did't work out. i also tried to run smbmnt as root, up to now my problem was not solved. Hi, I have a Linux box with 512MB RAM and running Samba 2.2.7. I noticed that memory is constantly decreasing when I typed free. If I run ps aux, I see that more and more samba sessions are opened, some by root and some by users. Is this normal? Won't Samba close unused sessions before opening new sessions?
