RESOLVED - RE: Ext3 problems possibly plauging me
Thank you to all who replied. I am very happy (for you guys anyway) to report that this was NOT infact caused by ext3, but rather a very very untimely memory failure that occured during my convertion from ext2 to ext3. It turned out that one of my PC2100 DDRs went south, and I'll be contacting Crucial to deal with that. Thanx again for all the help. benr. -----Original Message-----

New lwip prerelease
I just pushed out Syslinux 4.10-pre21. This prerelease version fixes gPXE virtio support... again, if you have had a system with problems on 4.10-preX, I would appreciate your testing it out. -hpa -- H. Isolinux bug: CD bootsector support broken
HPA, I believe that support to boot windows CD bootsectors was broken in 3.05. I have tested 2.13, 3.00, 3.02, 3.05, 3.06, 3.08, 3.11, and 3.20pre6. All versions >= 3.05 are broken. All versions <= 3.02 work fine with the same config. The error message I get is: ================================================================ IOSLINUX 3.20 3.20-pre6 Copyright (C) 1994-2005 H. PXELINUX memory overwrite bug - SYSLINUX 2.00-pre9 released
Hi everyone, Kevin Tran of Broadcom just identified a very serious bug in PXELINUX where random parts of the PXE stack would get overwritten by PXELINUX. As a result, I have release SYSLINUX 2.00-pre9 for testing; if you have had problems with PXELINUX **PLEASE** test this version. I will try to make a SYSLINUX 2.00 some time this week if this tests out OK. I will also hunt for similar bugs

[5.xx-6.01] broken PXE with HTTP
Hello With 4.06 this works fine all times. But with versions 5.1x-preX and 6.0x-preX, 6.01) does not work, random errors or nothing shows (netconn_write error -5), random behaviour. Only few times works (1/50...). Note that retriving files via TFTP works perfect in all cases. This happens using pre-compiled files in tarball and building for source. # dnsmasq --port=0 \

Backup Echo Suppression
I realize that the preprocessor echo suppression is not designed specifically to counter the effects of data loss. On the other hand, as much as I might like to, I do not have the option to "fix that problem for real." The sad truth is that some end users have systems that may drop samples, or do other unfathomable things, no matter what I do. I can not rewrite their drivers, firmware,

[5.10] serial console broken
Hello Since syslinux-5.10, serial console looks broken (nothing is displayed), at least using qemu-1.5.0/1.4.2. Versions 5.01 and 5.02-preX works OK. Relevant directive is on top of syslinux.cfg: -------------------- SERIAL 0 38400 ... ... -------------------- I guess something is worng due recent serial console changes. If you need more info, or revert some commit / git-bisect, please let me

Just stirring the waters...
Hi, now that Ingo+redhat have discovered the cause of the ext2 corruption under heavy load of 2.4.x a couple of -preX patches ago (BTW ext2/3 gurus - what is the difference between bforget() and brelse() - I'm a bit too dense to understand the explanation given in the -pre patch?) I wonder whether you folks are still finding heavy load corruption problems for 2.4? [My production servers are

Backup Echo Suppression
Believe me; I've "played with" priorities and buffering. Did you just say you have no idea how the Speex residual echo suppressor works? If that is the case, can you tell me where I could get some information about it? -----Original Message----- From: Jean-Marc Valin [mailto:jean-marc.valin@usherbrooke.ca] Sent: Friday, June 29, 2007 7:38 PM To: Coffey, Michael Cc:

Unable to find linux kernel on ext4, filesystem-related root cause assumed
Dear all, I'm working on a shell script which is producing a bootable image file. It contains a populated MBR and a single file system (ext4) which again contains a debootstrabed debian stable distribution. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing problems with the bootability of the produced image. When selecting the installed system at the boot prompt, Syslinux responds with something like

ext3-0.9.16 against linux-2.4.17-pre2
An ext3 update which also applies to linux-2.4.16 is available at http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/ext3/ Quite a lot of miscellany here. It would be appreciated if interested parties could please test it in preparation for sending upstream. Thanks. Changelog: - Merged several ext2 sync-up patches from Christoph Hellwig - Drop the big kernel lock across the call to block_prepare_write.

rebooting snoms in 1.6
With Asterisk 1.4 I could use commands like: /usr/sbin/asterisk -rx "sip notify reboot-snom mjc_home" to reboot a snom phone. Now, with 1.6, when I try that, I get: Unable to find notify type 'reboot-snom' Command 'sip notify reboot-snom mjc_home' failed. Do I need to add some magic to sip_notify.conf? I haven't quite figured out how to make it work. - Mike

asterisk call parking + SNOM lighted buttons?
I'm trying to get call parking working with the lighted buttons on the SNOM 200. I have set the 5 buttons to "Park Orbit", for extensions 700-704. Pressing the first button (x700) does park the call. However, the remaining buttons (x701-704) don't allow me to pick up parked calls, or show parking status via the LEDs. I can only pick up parked calling by manually dialing the

call parking "hint"
Hi, Is it possible to use the hint priority to allow call parking slots to be monitored on (for example) Snom indicator lamps? How do you refer to the slots (i.e., what is the "channel") in the hint? - Mike

IAX2 + Sonicwall
Hi all, I currently have an Asterisk test server behind a TZ170 Sonicwall firewall / NAT box, with several DIDs. I've found that inbound IAX2 calls don't work reliably (i.e., I get a busy tone) unless I enable "Use Consistent NAT" in the Sonicwall. This feature is poorly documented by Sonicwall, so I thought I'd pass it along. Has anyone else run into this, or figured

echo in Snom 360 phones
Hi all, One of my users reports frequently hearing echo on her Snom 360 phone, even while talking to other Snom phones (via Asterisk) on the same LAN (i.e., all-digital low-latency connection). I can never reproduce it though, and swapping the phone didn't help. Has anyone else seen "mystery echo" on Snom phones? Any suggestions for debugging? On my own Snom 360, I sometimes

audio cuts out during IVR
Hi all, I'm running 1.6.2.0-rc6, and I'm running into a problem: sometimes the audio vanishes in the middle of listening to an IVR background prompt. This happens with both analog (Digium card) and IAX2 incoming calls. The prompts are stored in ulaw format (and the IAX2 calls use ulaw). The asterisk console claims that the IVR prompts are proceeding in the expected fashion, but I

ext3 problem
Hello Does anybody know that Linux kernel 2.4.4 supports ext3 fs (module or embedded). I looked at the config menus, but I couldn't see ext3 support. I don't know whether the other ext3 modules work under a kernel which does not support ext3. I will try to insmod ext3 modules. I'm searching and trying newly built kernels. Any help or comments are welcome. Best regards Ardaulas
