fail2ban and secure permissions
Hello,
Has anyone got fail2ban working and blocking ssh spambot atempts? My
ssh is logging with a facility of authpriv which syslogd sends to
/var/log/secure. That file has 600 permissions owned and group of
root. I want to make it where fail2ban can access the needed file, yet
not make it insecure in the process. I was not wanting to change
permissions last time I did that on a log file a cron

Problem between Asterisk and an Aastra 57i
Hi,
I'm currently trying to connect an Aastra 57i to our Asterisk Server.
The strange thing is, that altough I have definitely entered the correct
IP address of the server, the phone doesn't even attempt to register.
Here is the configuration file (local.cfg) of the phone:

Zplex-10 Dialing Issue
I'm hoping that someone else has seen this problem.
Running CVS version from 03/08/03 20:00
T100P -> Zplex-10
All internal call routing seems to work fine. Atempts to make calls on the FXO interface fail. Asterisk picks up the correct number dialed but there seems to be a problem with the Zplex transmitting that number on the POTS line. All attempts to dial out fail with the LEC giving

iptables to block region-specific ip's?
Hello,
I'm running fail2ban on my centos machine. It's handling sshd and
postfix, and is working quite well. From the reports I'm seeing all
the atempts are from a certain registrar's region, I won't name it,
and was wondering instead of blocking individual ip's if there was a
way I could block with iptables the complete region of ip's. I realize
this will cut off a

lme and confidence intervals
Hi all!
After fitting a mixed effects model to repeated measurements data set, and after several unsuccessful atempts to make a simple plot of the confidence interval for the fitted model, I gave up and now I am asking for help in this useful list.
Could anyone be so kind to give me some code lines in order to make a plot of the fitted equation and the correspondent confidence interval?

Network issues with CentOS 5.2
I am totally new to using CentOS. Linux in Genera really. I have decent
experiencing with terminal code for Macs though.
Here's the deal my Boss wants us to move more toward linux for some of
our basic users. All I was supposed to do was install CentOS 5.2 and
Open Office and disburse the machines. Simple enough right. So I did
this with no issue. I ran the interface and installed only

Problems with Simpletelecom and *
Anyone using Simpletelecom with *? I had a nice working system with them, my credit can out so I apply another $5 to
continue testing. Since then nothing has worked. I always get:

-- Executing Dial("SIP/line1-74ac",

aastra 480i configuration help
I'm having problems getting my aastra 480i to register with the asterisk
server. I can inititate calls from the phone, but >sip show peers does not
show any IP address registered for this phone. I am probably missing
something stupidly simple. Anyone have an example config to share or
corrections for my configuration?

YAML inconsistencies...
I figured I''d post here before submitting a ticket, but I''m seeing some
confusing stuff when dealing with YAML now. I was using it to freeze
objects in my database, and so i had some data already around to mess with.
I upgraded both Ruby (1.8.3 -> 1.8.4) and Rails ( -> 1.1RC1) and this junk
started. I''ve outlined the problem in two pastes, which I''ll

x100p won't answer
Hi,
I just got two digium x100p clones and installed asterisk on fedora
core 2 which took some tweaking. After getting asterisk up I installed
the zaptel stuff - then modprobed zaptel, wcfxs (for the fxo cards),
which worked fine. ztcfg is showing two channels configured, but when I
start asterisk and do show channels, i see no active channels.
zapata.conf has:

continuous independent variable in lme
Dear All,
I am writing to ask a clarification on what R, and in particular lme, is
doing.
I have an experiment where fly wing area was measured in 4 selection lines,
measured at 18 and 25 degrees. I am using a lme model because I have three
replicated per line (coded 1:12 so I need not use getGroups to creat an
orederd factor).
The lines are called: "18"; "25";

Textilize problems with line breaks
I''m having a problem formatting some text. I have a textarea that I
input my text into, which will then be put into an e-mail and sent out.
The problem I am having is when there is a single line break.
Multiple line breaks work fine (hitting enter twice), but single line
breaks don''t seem to work properly.
Take the following input:
Line1.

Line3.
Line4.
