How to compile samba-2.2.x on HP/UX 11.00

Add -D_XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED definition for HP/UX 11.00 platform
Hi, I suggest to add the following definition to configure and its template configure.in to allow samba-2.2.x to be compiled on HP/UX 11.00 with some lesser warnings. Without this definition you'll get warnings on all socket operation because the socket operations are UNIX98 specific and HP/UX 11.00 will support this when _XOPEN_SOURCE_EXTENDED is defined. -- Ren? What group is CPB\unix_group.2147483404?
Hi, What's does a group like 'CPB\unix_group.2147483404' mean? I get al sorts of group when I run the following kix-script that are recognizable and some that are not. Why? running samba-2.2.3a with domainname CPB. ================ groups.kix ====================== $index = 0 DO $group = ENUMGROUP($index) ? $group $index = $index + 1 UNTIL Len($group) = 0

how to define share for sharing lmhosts?
Hi All, Probably simple question: I want to make a share for sharing an lmhosts file which gets included by the clients. This share has to be very public and accept nullsessions (whatever that me be (no username and password?)). I want this because I need to generate aliases on the fly for for our fileserver for some clients (terminalservers specifically). So I thought that having an server

Can't get 8.3 filenames to lower the case
Hi, I seem to have some trouble on default lowering the case on 8.3 filenames. I use the following settings but sometimes I still get a 8.3-compliant file with uppercased chars in my unix filesystem. default case = lower case sensitive = no preserve case = yes short preserve case = no mangle case = no mangling method = hash2 Any thoughts? BTW. using HP/UX 11.00

get quota command bugs?
First of all: Thanks Samba-Team for a job well-done on Samba-3.0.0 (nice new features) Now some problems: 1. We're use Veritas filesystem on our RedHat AS 2.1 server and quota don't seem to work at this moment (/usr/include/sys/fs/vx_quota.h is missing). So I thought that using "get quota command" would do the trick (just call vxquota and parse output). But nothing

Netlogon no longer works in 2.2.6 with W2k client
Hi, We've got a fairly simple samba setup (no ldap/winbind etc) and until recently everything worked fine (using samba-2.2.5). But after switching to samba-2.2.6 w2k-clients fail to run the netlogon-scripts. When i look at the client it says: logonserver=\\<workstationname> BTW. The output of "nmblookup -S CPB" (to me) seems to say that CPB is the logonserver. querying CPB

Samba-2.2.7a on HPUX 11.00 trying to compile LDAP support
Dear all, I am trying to use Samba with LDAP support so I can't use the CIFS binaries. I are having an issue with compiling samba-2.27.a (patched) on our HPUX server. I am configuring it with these Samba option flags: --prefix=/opt/samba --libdir=/etc/opt/samba --localstatedir=/var/opt/samba --with-privatedir=/var/opt/samba/private --with-lockdir=/var/opt/samba/locks

Hello! Yesterday I upgraded from 1.0beta3 to 1.0beta4. I've major problems now with my inbox (quite large, 900MB) and another large folder. Thunderbird 1.5 connects and disconnects. I tried to delete the indexes of dovecot and thunderbird without any sucess. Finally I downgraded to 1.0beta3 and it works well again (Beta3 was running for a timeframe from when it came out and now without

Are there any 64bit CentOS5 kernels available that are immune against the exploit mentioned in the subject? Turning off 32bit support is no option to me.. FW: Bonding & xenbr0
Hi Gerhard; I'm pretty new to this list too but I think this may be a bonding issue. What bonding mode are you using in /etc/modprobe.conf? You should have a couple of lines in there: alias bond0 bonding options bond0 miimon=x mode=x What kind of switch are you connecting to and have you done any specific configuration to the switch to support your bonding mode? (depends on the mode).
